ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
MADRID
PHOTO 1. Insert the flaps of the cabin floor 1 into the corresponding holes in the fronts 2. Be sure that the widest area of the
fronts is on the same side of the floor. Use white glue for this.
PHOTO 2. With the lining strips 3, line the floor of the cabin. Leave the openings free so that the seats can be put into place.
Use contact adhesive for this procedure. Dampen the sides of the passenger cabin 4, and using a hair dryer, gently fold the
lower part of the sides so that they adjust to the curve of the fronts. Once you have made the curve, nail it into place with pins A
(Photo 5) and glue both sides, fitting them into the corresponding grooves. You may also use quick-drying glue.
PHOTOS 3 and 4. Use pieces 5, 6 and 7 to form five double benches, and pieces 7, 8 and 9 to form another five single
benches. Use a pencil to mark the slots of the seats and the backrests at equal distances. Once assembled, put them into place
and glue them to the passenger cabin, inserting the tabs into the slots of both the floor and the sides.
PHOTO 5. With the strips 3, line the outside fronts of the passenger cabin, using contact adhesive. On the inside put the
porthole window glasses 10 into place. Use the template. Next, glue the four ceiling beams 11 into the corresponding grooves.
PHOTO 6. Line one face of the doors 12 with the lining strips 3. Glue the glasses 14 into the frames 13 and all of the doors.
Glue the handles 15 to both sides of the doors. Paint the parts using the step-by-step photos of the sample shown on page 7 as
a guide.
PHOTO 7. Cut and glue the glasses 17, 19 and 21 into the corresponding window frames 16, 18 and 20. Put the ten frames 16
into place, with their corresponding glasses, in the sides of the cabin. Place the sides 22 and 23 into place in the upper section.
Remove the pins, fill in any gaps left behind, sand thoroughly, and paint the outside of the passenger cabin red.
PHOTO 8. Position the doors on the inside of the passenger cabin. Similarly, put the windows 18 and 20 into their
corresponding places. Glue three protection bars 24 in the large windows and another three in the small windows 25. Starting
from the lower section, leave a space of approximately 7 mm between the bars.
PHOTOS 9 and 10. Between the bases of the access cabins 26 and the control supports 27, nail and glue the fronts 28 and
ends 29 of the cabins. Between the two pieces, glue and adjust the strips 30, forming a curve. Line the inside of the access
cabins with the strips 3, using contact adhesive. Glue the lower bars 31 to the ends of the fronts. Put the brake shafts 32 and
brake wheels 33 into place. Fasten the wheel with a 1.5-mm-diameter piece of brass. Position the throttle valve boxes 34, and
over the pieces 27, the throttle valve bases 35 and the rheostat cranks 36. Finally, place the pedals 37 between the brake shafts
and the throttle valve boxes.
PHOTOS 11 - 13. Cut and glue the front glasses 39 between the inside 38 and outside 40 of the front windows. Use some
pieces of the strip 3 to line the sides. Glue the assembly over the protrusions of the control supports, so that it sits perfectly
vertical. Lastly, glue the two access cabins to the passenger cabin, by assembling the corresponding inserts.
PHOTO 14. Position and glue the access cabin roof supports 41. Glue one of the cabin roof beams 42 so that it is attached to
the front of the passenger cabin, and another beam 42 at a distance of 20 mm from the first.
PHOTOS 15 - 17. Use the strips 43 to line the lower roof, sitting the strips on the roof beams and supports. In the longer
sections, you will need to alternate the strips between the two central beams, as shown in the photo. Stain The strips 43 walnut.
PHOTOS 18 and 19. Cut and place the glasses 44 on the inside of the upper sides of the passenger cabin. Position and glue
the two upper roof beams 45. Cover the edges of the roof with the side and front joint strips 46 and 47. Stain The strips 46 and
47 walnut.
PHOTO 20. Glue on the upper bars of the access cabins 48. Glue the levers 49 to the inside of the roof. Round off one end of
the handrail 51 and make a Ø 1.5-mm hole in it, through which the curved bars 50 will be inserted. Make another Ø 1.5-mm hole
in each of the sides of the access cabin floor at the height of the edge of the stairs, and insert and glue the curved bars. Glue
the handrail into place at the height of the fronts of the access cabins. Stain The strips 51 walnut. At approximately 10 mm from
the handrail, glue the crossbars 52. Glue the rings 53 into the upper area between the curve and the corners of the cabins. Glue
the joint strips 3 and 54 into the lower area of the access cabins.
PHOTO 21. Glue the bell 55 over the upper front. In the lower section of the front windows, glue the brackets 56 at an equal
distance from one another.
PHOTOS 22 and 23. Glue in the decorative trim for the sides of the passenger cabin 57.
Cover the upper roof with strips 58. On top of the roof, in the centre, glue four trolley support beams 59 and the trolley supports
60. Stain The strips 58, 59 and 60 walnut.
PHOTO 24. Use pieces 61, 62 and 63 to form the upper beams of the chassis. Position the leaf spring stops 64 and 65 at the
specified distances.
PHOTO 25. Glue the leaf springs 66 between the stops. Use pieces 67, 68, 69 and 70 to form the lower beams of the chassis.
PHOTO 26. Use pieces 71 and 72 to form the vertical beams, and glue them in at the height of the stops 64 and 65. Glue the
crossbars 73 onto the ends of the upper bars of the chassis, and in the centre of them, the crossbar 74. See that all the parts of
the chassis fit perfectly into place, with all angles at 90º.
