4. Intended Use

The network switch serves to interconnect by cable (shielded connection ca-
bles) computers or other devices suitable for this purpose.
The network switch is designed for network environments in which the network
traffic and the number of users is constantly increasing. The network switch is
ideal for workgroups with shared bandwidths of 100 or 1000 Mbit/s with multi-
ple high-speed servers. The highest bandwidth is 2000 Mbit/s (1000 Mbit/s full
duplex) and each port provides an instantaneous data line to a workstation for
simultaneous access to the server.
The network switch can only be used together with the corresponding 10/100
or 1000 MBit network cards or other network components as otherwise the
product could be damaged as well as all the computers/devices connected to
the network.
Any other type of use is considered to be unsuitable and may result in per-
sonal or property damage (in addition it may carry risks such as short circuit,
fire, electric shock, etc.). Schwaiger GmbH disclaims any liability for damages
resulting from unintended use, improper installation or improper use. In such
cases, the guarantee will be without effect.
The network switch is easy to install and use. There is no required configuration
or installation.
5. General Safety & Maintenance Instructions
• The network switch is an electronic product that should not be left in the
hands of children! Therefore, keep it out of the reach of children.
• A faulty electrical installation or too high mains voltage can cause an electric
shock.
• The network switch must not be modified or changed. The housing must not
be opened.
• Use the product only in dry and closed environments. Protect the product
from moisture.
• Do not drop the product or expose it to strong vibrations.
• Clean only with a lint-free cloth. In doing this, especially ensure that no water
(no fluid or moisture) gets into the product.
