Intended use
The product is used as a pre-filter for a garden pump or a domestic water supply system. It
filters out coarse particles (e.g. small stones etc.) from the water sucked in by the pump, thus
not only protecting the pump from damage, but also preventing the connected garden or water
sprinklers from clogging. The product is not suitable for filtering drinking water.
For safety purposes, do not convert and/or modify this product. Using the product for purposes
other than those described above may damage the product. Read the operating instructions
carefully and store them in a safe place. Only make this product available to third parties
together with its operating instructions.

Safety information
Read the operating instructions carefully and observe in particular the safety
instructions. If you do not follow the safety information and information on
proper handling in these operating instructions, we will assume no liability for
any resulting personal injury or damage to property. Such cases will invalidate
the warranty/guarantee.
• This product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. It may become a danger-
ous toy for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, flam-
mable gases, vapours and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• The water filter is not suitable for drinking water. Only fresh water is permitted as
the pumped medium.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, stop using it and prevent
unauthorised use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stress.
• Handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height may
damage the product.
• Always observe the safety information and operating instructions of any other de-
vices which are connected to the product.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions,
contact our technical support service or other technical personnel.

To mount the filter on a pump, proceed as follows:
The water filter must be connected to the suction side of the pump. You may need suitable
adapters/connectors (not included) depending on the pump; the same applies to the suction
hose connection. Do not use force when mounting the filter.
The water filter must be installed in such a way that its transparent sight glass points
downwards.
At the same time, the correct water flow direction must be ensured; the two connec-
tions of the water filter are marked with an arrow symbol indicating the flow direction
and letters:
"IN" = inlet side, in the direction of the suction hose
"OUT" = outlet side, in the direction of the pump
Checking/changing/cleaning the filter
You can find the appropriate replacement filter in our online shop on the product
page for the respective water filter.
• You can easily check through the sight glass (A) whether the filter insert (B) is dirty. The
stronger the soiling, the lower the flow rate and the sooner the filter insert has to be replaced.
• The connected pump must be switched off before opening the water filter.
• Open the shut-off valves (if any) to release the underpressure or overpressure in the hose
system and the pump. In addition, slowly unscrew the pressure adjustment screw (E) (turn it
to the left, counter-clockwise).
• Loosen the union nut (C) and remove the sight glass (A).
• Take out the filter insert (B) and replace it with a new one.
If the filter is only clogged by foliage or the like, you can rinse it under running water
and then continue using it.
• Assemble the water filter in reverse order, making sure that the filter insert is positioned
correctly. Tighten the union nut and the pressure adjustment screw (do not use force and do
not use any tools).
Disposal
At the end of its service life, dispose of the product according to the relevant statu-
tory regulations.
