Charging procedure
A special feature of this hand-warmer is its fast recharging process, so that it is quickly ready for
re-use after losing heat.
However, this requires a USB power supply (or a USB cigarette lighter adapter) that can provide
a minimum current of 1.1 A.
A standard USB port on a computer is not able to do this and could become damaged if the
hand-warmer is connected to it!
However, it is now possible to obtain USB ports that are designed specifi cally for charging and
which can provide such a high current. Refer to the operating instructions of the device in ques-
tion.
• Switch the hand-warmer off. Connect the mini USB input on the hand-warmer to the USB power supply
using the USB cable provided.
• The LED (2) lights up in red to indicate that the device is charging. Depending on the battery's condition,
charging takes approx. between 1.5 and 2.5 hours to complete.
• Once the battery is fully charged, the LED (2) lights up in green. Now disconnect the hand-warmer from
the USB power supply.
This hand-warmer is now ready for operation.
Getting Started
• Switch the hand-warmer on using the On/Off switch (4).
• The LED (3) lights up in green to indicate that it is heating up.
After some 4 - 5 minutes, the hand-warmer has reached its working temperature (max. approx. 41°C). The
hand-warmer is designed so that it is normal for the casing to not become equally hot.
• Put the hand-warmer into the protective sleeve provided in order to avoid direct skin contact with the hand-
warmer's metal surface.
• The internal temperature control automatically prevents the device from continuing to heat up once it has
reached the correct temperature or activates the heating up process if the temperature level drops. The
LED (3) indicates whether the device is heating up (LED is lit) or not (LED is unlit).
If the LED (3) lights up in red the battery is almost empty.
The hand-warmer switches off automatically if the battery voltage is too low. If this happens
recharge the battery as soon as possible to prevent it from becoming drained.
• Switch the hand-warmer off when you no longer need to use it.
Cleaning
To clean the hand-warmer, it is suffi cient to use a clean, dry, soft cloth. Do not apply too much pressure, as
this can lead to scratches. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents since these might cause discolouration
of the casing.
If the protective sleeve is soiled, it must be rinsed in luke-warm water; where required, add a small amount of
gentle detergent. The protective sleeve must be completely dry before it may be reused.
