Switch Mode Power Supply Unit

Please read these operating instructions carefully
prior to operating the unit anad keep them for later ref-
erence.
1 Applications
This power supply unit is used for direct current supply
of small units with an operating voltage between 15 V
and 24 V and a current consumption of 4 A max. (3.8 A
at 24 V). The output voltage is adjustable to 15 V, 16 V,
18 V, 19 V, 20 V, 22 V or 24 V. The unit is protected
against short circuit, overload and overheating. The
special feature of the power supply unit is its extra low
current consumption (< 0.5 W) when the unit con-
nected has been switched off.

2 Safety Notes

This unit corresponds to all required directives of the
EU and is therefore marked with
WARNING The unit uses dangerous mains volt-
age. Leave servicing to skilled person-
nel only. Inexpert handling may result in
electric shock.

The unit is suitable for indoor use only. Protect it
against dripping water and splash water, high air
humidity and heat (admissible ambient temperature
range 0 – 40 °C).

Do not place any vessel filled with liquid on the unit,
e. g. a drinking glass.

Do not operate the unit and immediately disconnect
the mains plug from the socket
1. if the unit or the mains cable is visibly damaged,
2. if a defect might have occurred after the unit was
dropped or suffered a similar accident,
3. if malfunctions occur.
In any case the unit must be repaired by skilled per-
sonnel.

Never pull the mains cable to disconnect the mains
plug from the socket, always seize the plug.
G
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, never use
chemicals or water.

No guarantee claims for the unit and no liability for
any resulting personal damage or material damage
will be accepted if the unit is used for other purposes
than originally intended, if it is not correctly con-
nected, if it is overloaded, or not repaired in an
expert way.

If the unit is to be put out of operation defini-
tively, take it to a local recycling plant for a
disposal which is not harmful to the environ-
ment.

3 Operation

1) Determine the operating voltage of the unit to be
supplied with power (
ply jack of the unit) and adjust the voltage by turn-
ing the switch (1) with the key supplied (2).
CAUTION! At the unit to be supplied the positive
pole must be at the inside contact of the power sup-
ply jack (marking
jack). If not, the PSS-90NE must not be used. The
unit to be connected is not able to operated and will
possibly be damaged.
2) Select the matching adapter from the six adapters
supplied:

3) Place the matching adapter (4) onto the inline jack
(3) and to the power supply jack of the unit to be
connected.
4) Connect the power supply unit with the supplied
mains cable to a socket (100 – 240 V~, 50 – 60 Hz).
The red operating indication lights up.
