Silent Stepper
Item no. 1782845
Intended use
The Silent Stepper TMC2208 turns your 3D printer into an extremely quiet machine in just a few
simple steps. The Silent Stepper is a stepper motor driver board for 2-phase stepper motors
based on the Trinamic motor driver.
The special drivers control the motors of your printer with interpolated 256 bits instead of the
usual 8 bits. Thus the motor is almost silent in normal operation.
For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you use
the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged.
In addition, improper use can cause hazards such as short circuiting, fire, electric shock etc.
Read the instructions carefully and keep them. Make this product available to third parties only

current reduction.
• Step/Dir interface with microstepping function (interpolation of up to 256 microsteps).
• microPlyer - Microstep interpolation for smooth running of the stepper motor
• stealthChop - for quiet operation and gentle movements
• spreadCycle - highly dynamic chopper with motor control
Assembly/Installation
First mount the two pin header.
Slide the pin header from the bottom (side with IC)
into the board and solder them on the top.
Use the picture on the right for orientation.
• Now glue the enclosed heat sink to the top of the
circuit board.
To achieve the best cooling performance, place it
exactly above the IC on the bottom.
Use the picture on the right for orientation.
Make sure that the heat sink does not
cause a short circuit at the solder pins!
• Now place the stepper in your 3D printer.
Please refer to the operating instructions of your 3D printer. The installation of the
Silent Stepper is almost identical to the original stepper.
