Emergency fl ashing warning light

Intended use
The emergency warning light is used for the visual warning of other people in the event of an
emergency or of car break-downs.
The product is suitable to be mounted on all metallic objects using two magnets on the back
side, or to be suspended on a suitable hook using the suspension lug.
The power may only be supplied by batteries/rechargeable batteries (type: see "Technical
data").
Any use other than that described above is not permitted and can damage the product. In ad-
dition, it can lead to hazards such as short-circuit, fi re, etc.
This product complies with the applicable national and European requirements. All names of
companies and products are the trademarks of the respective owners. All rights reserved.

Explanation of the symbols
In the operating manual, an exclamation mark inside a triangle indicates important
instructions.
The "hand" symbol indicates special information and advice on operating the device.
Safety Instructions
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe
these safety instructions! We do not assume any liability for any resulting
damage!
We shall not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury caused
by incorrect handling or non-compliance with the safety instructions. In such
cases, the warranty will be null and void.
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modifi cation of the product is not permitted
for safety and approval reasons (CE).
• The product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children.
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could become a
dangerous plaything for children.
• Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental
falls, even from a low height.
• The use of this product on vehicles is only permitted when the vehicle is at a
standstill. Using the product while driving constitutes a violation of the Road Traffi c
Regulations.
• During the installation always pay attention to a solid and secure hold to avoid
material or personal damage.
• The metal surface and the magnets should be clean to avoid scratch marks.
• Avoid a displacement of the warning light in the installed state. This may lead to
damages on the metal/paint.
• Check the capacity of the batteries/rechargeable batteries at regular intervals so that
the product can be used in case of an emergency. If required, have replacement
batteries/rechargeable batteries in your car.
• Caution, LED light: Do not look directly into the LED light! Do not look into the
beam directly or with optical instruments!
General information on batteries/rechargeable batteries
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must be kept out of the reach of children.
• Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around; there is a risk that they could be
swallowed by children or pets. If they are swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
• Leaking or damaged normal/rechargeable batteries in contact with the skin can cause acid
burns; therefore, use suitable safety gloves.
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or thrown into fi re.
There is a risk of explosion.
• Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries, risk of explosion! Only charge
rechargeable batteries that are intended for this purpose; use a suitable battery charger.
• Never mix standard batteries with rechargeable batteries, use either standard batteries or
rechargeable batteries.
• Do not mix batteries/rechargeable batteries with different charge levels (e. g. full and half-full
batteries/rechargeable batteries).
• Always replace the complete set of batteries/rechargeable batteries.

• Check that the polarity is correct when inserting the batteries/rechargeable batteries (pay
attention to plus and minus).

If you wish to use rechargeable batteries please note that, due to the lower output voltage
(batteries = 1.5 V, rechargeable batteries =1.2 V), the operating time will decrease. Therefore,
we recommend that you use high-quality alkaline batteries to ensure long-lasting and reliable
operation.
Insertion and Replacement of Batteries
Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the casing. For this purpose, loosen the
two screws using a small Phillips head screwdriver. Remove the empty batteries/rechargeable
batteries, if necessary. Insert three new batteries/rechargeable batteries of type AAA/micro
in the battery compartment observing the correct polarity and then carefully close the battery
compartment cover again using the two screws.

Maintenance and Cleaning
Apart from the occasional battery change, the emergency fl ashing warning light is maintenance-
free.
Clean the two magnets immediately after each use to avoid soiling and oxidation.
The entire product can be cleaned easily with a moist cloth when the battery compartment is
closed. For this, use a soft cloth.
Never use caustic cleaning agents or chemical solutions, as they could damage the surface of
the casing. Do not press too strongly to prevent damage to the product.

As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/
rechargeable batteries; disposal of them in the household waste is prohibited.
You thereby fulfi l your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.

Dispose of unserviceable products in accordance with the relevant statutory regula-
tions.
Remove any batteries/rechargeable batteries inserted in the emergency warning
lamp and dispose of them separately from the product.
Batteries/rechargeable batteries that contain hazardous materials are labelled with
the following symbols to indicate that disposal in the household waste is forbidden.
The symbols of the relevant heavy metals are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb =
Lead.
You can return your used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge to the of-
fi cial collection points in your municipality, in our stores, or anywhere where batteries
or rechargeable batteries are sold.
