Filling your deep fat fryer with oil
We recommend you use a good quality vegetable oil for your fryer. Note: Sunflower oil, unrefined oil, cold
pressed oil, native olive oil is not recommended as it breaks down at a temperature below the maximum
frying temperature of your fryer.
Make sure that the power switch on the control panel is set to off ('0') and the fryer is disconnected from
the mains supply.
Add the oil slowly until the correct level is reached (between the minimum and maximum marks).

Carefully remove your deep fat fryer from the box. You may wish to store the packaging for
future use.
Read these instructions thoroughly before use.
We recommend that you clean the fryer before use.
Position the fryer in the location where it will be used. This must be on a horizontal surface
strong enough to support the fryer and its contents, out of reach of children.
Fill the fryer with either oil or solid fat following the instructions on the next page.
Make sure that the power switch on the control panel is set to off ('0') and the fryer is discon-
nected from the mains supply.
Cut the solid fat into cubes of about 15 – 20 mm in size. Ensure there is enough fat to cover the
heating element.
Turn the temperature control to its lowest setting.
Plug the mains plug into the mains socket.
Switch the fryer on by setting the power switch to '1', the power indicator comes on.
Rotate the temperature control clockwise until the ready indicator comes on (NOTE: Your fryer
is fitted with a thermostat to control the temperature of the oil or fat. When the oil reaches the
set temperature the thermostat operates, switching the power off. The ready indicator will light
up. When the temperature drops, the thermostat will operate switching the power on. The ready
indicator will extinguish.)
When the ready indicator is extinguished, turn the temperature control clockwise until the light
comes on again.
Repeat this process until all the fat has melted.
Once the fat has melted refer to "Using your deep fat fryer" below.
Be careful not to add too much fat and always ensure the level is between the minimum and
maximum marks.
If you do not add enough fat the reset button may engage (see below for 'Safety Cut-out').
After the fryer had cooled the fat will solidify again.
