Helmet Safety Light
Tube

This product complies with the national and European legal requirements.
Intended use
The bicycle helmet safety light tube serves as signal lighting for bicycle helmets in the private sector.
The product is designed for battery operation only. Do not use any other power supply. The correct battery
type is specifi ed in the "Technical Data" section.
Any use other than the one described above is not allowed and can damage the product. In addition, it can
lead to dangers such as short-circuit, fi re etc.
Read the operating instructions carefully and keep them for later reference.
The safety instructions should be observed without fail!
Safety Instructions
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe these safety
instructions! We do not assume liability for any resulting damage.
We do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by improper use
or non-compliance with the safety instructions. In such cases, the warranty will be null
and void.
An exclamation mark inside a triangle indicates important instructions in the operating
manual.
• For safety reasons, any unauthorised conversions and/or modifi cations to the product are not permitted.
• The product is not approved as lighting in the sense of the street traffi c ordinance and therefore may not
be used in public street traffi c. Other people in traffi c could become irritated or distracted.
• Avoid exposure to the following:
- Heavy mechanical loads
- Extreme temperatures
- Strong vibrations
- Strong magnetic or electric fi elds
• If you have any doubts about the correct operation, or the safety of the product, please consult a specialist.
• Keep the product and the batteries out of the reach of children. This product is not a toy.
• Do not leave packaging materials unattended. They may become dangerous playthings for children.
• Please observe the additional safety instructions in the individual chapters of this manual.
Installation on the helmet
• Affi x the provided glue pads to the light unit and the holding clips for the light tube (Figs. 2 and 3).
• Place the light tube and the lighting unit on the helmet as a test to determine the mounting points.
• Glue the holder clips for the light tube to the outside of the helmet (Fig. 4).
• Stick the light tube in the open ends of the lighting unit (Fig. 5). In so doing, push the light tube as far as
possible into the openings to ensure as tightly sealed an installation as possible and a good connection to
the light diodes.
• Push the light tube into the holding clips until it clicks.
• Glue the light unit to the back of the helmet (Fig. 6).

• Unscrew the fi xing screw on the battery compartment with a coin.
• Push the battery compartment cover upward from the lighting unit.
• Remove the fl at batteries (if applicable) and insert a new 1.5-V micro-battery (type AAA) in the battery
compartment (Fig. 1). Pay attention to the polarity markings. The correct polarity is indicated in the battery
compartment.
• Replace the lid of the battery compartment on the lighting unit and secure it again using the screw.
• If the brightness of the lights becomes weaker, the battery must be changed.
Operation
Press the button under the battery compartment to turn the lights on or off:

Press twice
Press three times
Maintenance and Care
The lamp is service-free except for the replacement of the battery.
Clean the exterior of the device only with a soft, dry cloth or a small brush.
Never use caustic cleaning agents or chemical solutions, as they could damage the surface of the case.
Disposal
Disposal of used batteries/storage batteries
The end user is legally obliged (Battery Regulation) to return used batteries and rechargeable batteries. Do
not dispose of used batteries in the household waste!
You can dispose of your used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge at your community's collection
point or any place where batteries/rechargeable batteries are sold!
You thereby fulfi l your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.

Batteries should be kept out of the reach of children.
Make sure that the polarity is correct when inserting the battery.
Remove the battery if you are not going to use the device for a while, to prevent damage
from leaking. Leaking or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries can cause acid burns
upon contact with the skin. Therefore, you should wear protective gloves when handling
damaged batteries.
Keep the batteries out of the reach of children. Do not leave batteries lying around, as they
may be swallowed by children or pets.
Make sure that the battery is neither short-circuited nor thrown into a fi re. Do not
recharge batteries. There is danger of an explosion.

Electronic devices are recyclable waste materials and must not be disposed of in the household
waste!
Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer of use, according to the current statutory
requirements.
Remove any inserted battery and dispose of it separately from the product.
Contaminated batteries/rechargeable batteries are labelled with the symbol to indicate that
disposal in the household waste is forbidden. The symbols for the relevant heavy metals are:
Cd=cadmium, Hg=mercury, Pb=lead (marking can be seen on the battery/rechargeable battery,
e.g., underneath the refuse bin symbol shown on the left).
