BEFORE FIRST USE

1. Carefully take the device and its accessories out of the packaging. Retain
the packaging in case you would like to store the device away or transport it
at a later date. If you choose to dispose of the packaging, then please do so
according to the applicable legal regulations.
2. Check the packaging contents for completeness and damages. Should the
contents in the packaging not be complete or be damaged, do not use the
device. Return it to your retail outlet immediately.
3. Clean the device and all accessories before the first use. Refer to the chapter
CARE AND MAINTENANCE.
4. Before using, condition the nonstick surface. Spread 2 teaspoons of vegetable
oil with a soft cloth or folded paper towel over the entire grill & griddle surface,
then set the temperature probe to 3. When the grill has reached the set
temperature, turn off and cool completely. The grill is now ready to use.
5. We recommend a "trial run" at a high temperature to eliminate any protective
substance or oil that may have been used for packing and shipping. Set the
temperature control 5 to begin the trial run process. Let the grill run for 20
minutes. A small amount of smoke and odor may be detected. This is normal.
USING THE ELECTRIC GRILL
1. Place the appliance on a stable, flat level surface such as a counter-top or table.
2. Place the drip tray into the base by sliding the edge underneath the tab located
on the housing
3. Insert the temperature probe into the cooking plate by lining the probe up with
the receptacle in the cooking plate. Do not attempt to insert the probe into the
cooking plate without the drip tray and cooking plate assembled in the
housing.
4. Slide the lid into the groove located in the back of the grill housing. The lid
can be used in one of three positions: open, closed flush, or elevated for thicker
ingredients. You can also cook with the lid removed completely if you so desire
by sliding the tabs of the lid out of the grooves located in the back of the grill
