Precautions to be observed when making
connections
Please heed the following precautions when performing connections for a system which uses this repeater.
1. Cable length
The cable length should be within the following range for systems using this repeater.
1 Cable between a base station (AJ-BS900) and this repeater or between two repeaters
With a ‡ 8.6 mm cable ..................... 250 m to 300 m
With a ‡ 14.5 mm cable ................... 400 m to 500 m
2 Cable between this repeater and a camera adapter (AJ-CA900)
With a ‡ 8.6 mm cable ..................... 50 m to 300 m
With a ‡ 14.5 mm cable ................... 100 m to 500 m
<Note>
The above lengths apply when a Fujikura triax cable is used. The range of length possible for the cable
may differ, depending on the type of cable used.
2. Power supply when using this repeater
It is possible to drive the digital triax camera adapter (AJ-CA900) via a triax cable with power supplied from a
digital triax base station (AJ-BS900); however, when using this repeater, it is strongly recommended that
power be supplied from an external source.
Up to a maximum of three repeaters can be used when the camera adapter is connected to an external power
source. Further, when using a five-inch viewfinder or large lens, ensure that the output from the external
power source is within designated limits.
When using the repeater with power supplied from the base station only (without connecting the camera
adapter to an external power source), a maximum of one repeater can be used. Please use a 1.5 or 2-inch
viewfinder and a portable lens.
3. Settings
This repeater is designed to be water-resistant, however avoid submerging in water and exposure to rain
when using outdoors.
Further, do not open the cover.
