Description
The above card is designed to be used with RS stock no. 217-3611. It
is small in size, with screw terminal blocks allowing quick and easy
connection to external components eg. motor, power supply or PLC. To
eliminate the P700Õs 5-pin plug the board has oscillator controls and

several switches fitted. As a result many of the external controls can be
predetermined without additional wiring eg. direction, full/half step or
base/running speed.
Set up
The P700CB can be set-up very quickly and easily by just connecting
a few simple connections in order for the motor to run. When you
receive your P700CB all the switches should be set to the off position.
The set-up for your board will depend on the controls being supplied.
There are two set-up options:
1) If you are not using the on board oscillator, the basic connections in
order for your motor to run are as follows:
Connect your motor to the relevant connections (ie. phase 1, 2, 3, 4
K
L
& the centre taps).

Connect a supply voltage of between +12Vdc to +30Vdc to the +V
board supply & GND. Then connect your clock pulse to the clock I/P
pin. Your motor should now be running.
2) If you are using the on board oscillator the basic connections in
order for your motor to run are as follows:
Connect your motor to the relevant connections (ie. phase 1, 2, 3,
4 & the centre taps).
Note: A forcing resistor maybe required
Connect a supply voltage of between +12Vdc to +30Vdc to the +V
board supply & GND. Set switches 1 (run/stop) & 3 (internal/external
oscillator) on SB1 to the on position. Your motor should now be
running.

Motor and logic have a common supply
of +12V to +30V
Centre of the motor windings connected
here. (A forcing resistor may be needed).
Connections for the motor windings
Applying +5V to this pin will switch the
relay from running to base speed.
Applying +12V to this pin will disable the

of holding up to 1mm
to external clock
on board oscillator.
