Installation
• Make sure the waste basket is securely in place.
• Connect the electricity plug to an easily accessible earthed power socket.
Operation
1. Press the isolating switch on the back of the shredder.
2. Press the power button, the power light will illuminate.
3. Make sure the waste bin is fully inserted into the shredder housing or the machine will not operate.
4. Feed the paper/CD/DVD/Credit card into the appropriate slot and the machine will start automatically, and stop when shredding has fi nished.
5. If you want to stop shredding or for emergency release – press & hold the reverse button.
6. After shredding, press the power button to turn off the shredder and turn off the isolating switch on the back of the shredder.
7. Overloading the machine will shorten its working life and could cause permanent damage.
8. This machine will shred up to 20 sheets of 80gsm paper. However, shredding fewer sheets will give greater effi ciency and extend the machine's
working life.
9. The shredder is equipped with energy saving technology which will disconnect power after 40 minutes of being idle. To resume, press the power
button.
10. This shredder is capable of continuous operation. However, to prolong it's working life, we recommend that after 120 minutes of operation, it is
allowed to rest for 30 minutes.
Oiling Instructions
• To ensure proper operation and function, periodic oiling of the cutting system is required. Failure to oil your cutting system could result in reduced
sheet capacity performance, excess noise, paper jams and possibly machine failure.
• Oil your cutters every 4th or 5th time you empty the bin. (Page 13)

Use only oil designed for use in shredders! Never use fl ammable or aerosol lubricants.
•
Lubrication should always be done with the shredder is cold. Never add oil to a hot shredder.
•
On no account should any aerosol product be used on or near this machine.
Warning
• Never attempt to shred more than one CD/Credit card at a time or the shredder will jam
• Never attempt to shred both paper and CD/Credit card at the same time or the shredder will jam
• Do not place fi ngers too close to the feed slot as serious injury may occur
• Always disconnect the power plug before cleaning a Swordfi sh shredder
• Repairs must be carried out by a specialist. There are no user-serviceable parts inside a Swordfi sh shredder. Unauthorised attempts to service the
machine will invalidate the warranty.
• Keep the waste bin emptied so that the shredder power is not impeded.
• This Swordfi sh shredder should only be used to shred paper, credit cards or CD/DVDs.
• Do not attempt to shred soft plastics, such as polythene junk mail envelopes.
• Staples will eventually blunt the cutters, so it is good practice to remove them before shredding. Do not put paperclips into the shredder.
• Keep children away from the machine. This shredder is not a toy.
• Shredders by their nature are top heavy machines. Take care that it does not topple over when it's being moved.
