Use a shielded network cable (STP) CAT5 or higher.

2. Connect the midspan (DATA PWR OUT) to the camera's RJ45
port using an Ethernet RJ45 cable.
3. Connect the midspan to a grounded (earthed) mains power
outlet (100–240 VAC) using the supplied power cable.
4. Verify that the midspan LEDs indicate the correct statuses.
See LED indicators on page 13.
AXIS T8154 60 W SFP Midspan
A: via an Ethernet RJ45 cable that is connected to
the midspan's RJ45 port (DATA IN).
B: via an optical fibre cable attached to an SFP
module that is connected to the midspan's SFP slot
(DATA IN).
