Safety instructions

Page
In order to be able to use the appliance properly and safely, every
3
user must first read the operating instructions and observe the
11
safety instructions contained therein. Take care of these operating
11
instructions and keep them in a place where they can be accessed
13
by everyone.
13
Only staff who have been trained accordingly, know the appliance
13
and are authorised to carry out work in this field should use this
14
appliance.
14
CAUTION! Never operate the equipment with the dispersing
14
tools rotating freely. Ensure that parts of the body, hair or items of
15
clothing cannot be trapped by the rotating parts. Before switching
15
on the dispersing instrument make sure that its shaft is sufficient-
15
ly immersed in the medium to prevent the medium from splashing
15
out (see operating instructions of the dispersion tool). Please
16
ensure, however, a minimum distance between the dispersing
17
element and the base of the stirring vessel (fig. 1). Do not use the
17
appliance without a dispersing element.
Vibrations can cause the turning handles on the clamp to loosen.
Check that the turning handles are secure and tighten if necessary.
It is not permitted to use the dispersing instrument with a freely
rotating dispersing element without a stirring vessel as any con-
tact can cause serious injury. It is important to ensure that the dis-
persing element is always inside the stirring vessel when the
appliance is switched on.
CAUTION! The equipment is also suitable for manual operation.
Please follow the relevant safety instructions and guidelines, and
occupational health and safety regulations for use in the laborato-
ry.
When working with the dispersing unit, the user must select
and wear his personal protective equipment according to the
mixing hazard category. Defective or inappropriate protective
equipment can expose the user to the risk of splashing or getting
caught in the dispersing tool.
