A-Headset Mount Appcon
Article no. 4083 (in set with assembly tool Article no. 4210)
Required tools:
Scope of delivery:
4 mm Allen key at least
Appcon A-Heaset Mount with Cover
170 mm long
M6 screw
(Verlängerung aus dem
2 x O-ring
Ratschenkasten)
Note
Pay special attention to the mount cover, which is always the first to get lost.
The entire system is very tightly calculated within the tolerances to allow A-headset assembly. Un-
der no circumstances should anything jam or be stiff. Then something is wrong. Please call us if you
have any problems. When the steerer tube is cut to length, a degree may form. Please remove this
degree inside and outside e.g. with a file.
Warning notice
If you force the Appcon A-Headset Mount into the fork tube and want to dismantle it again at some
point, you will not be able to swing it out because it has the A-Headset claw on the underside.
If the claw is in the specified position. Lubricate the Appcon Mount with sufficient grease on the
outside. This should simplify the assembly and disassembly of the steerer tube and additionally
contribute to heat dissipation. Push the Appcon Mount into the steerer tube (1.2) until the lower
surface of the mount rests against the upper surface of the stem (1.3).
Attention! You must not use any force here, as the claw is already in the tube, you cannot knock
the Appcon Mount out of the back if necessary. Think before what you do there. Depending on the
design of the stem, it can be useful to A-Headset Spacer under the Mount. This changes the exit
situation of the Appcon cables in relation to the stem (height). If you like the installation height, use
an extended Allen key (ratchet box) and adjust the A headset bearing system accordingly (1.4).
Included in delivery are two O-rings, which have to be inserted at the
bottom inside the mount. The Appcon is guided through the rings and
a wobble or noise development is thereby prevented. Everything is
correct if the Appcon is flush with the mount after insertion (1.1).
Make sure that the exit holes of the Appcon cables point to the front
or to the rear, depending on your taste. If necessary, you can also add
spacers to adjust the height (1.3).

ATTENTION
The Appcon and the Appcon A-Headset Mount must be clean. Unscrew the cover of the Appcon
Mount. Insert the Appcon and make sure that both cables are inserted into the slots provided.
Now unscrew the cover to the end. The force required for fastening is a matter of feeling and
therefore individual. First try it lightly and observe how you can loosen the cover again. You will find
moderate enough. Make sure that no dirt falls into the fine thread or into the Mount, this complicates
the screwing and could cause problems.
Important
When pulling the Appcon out of the steerer tube, make sure that you unplug the connector to the
dynamo beforehand, otherwise you will not be able to pull it out.
The wall thicknesses of the entire system are very thin. This results in special requirements.
Never apply force when mounting the Appcon into the A-headset integration. Should this be neces-
sary something is wrong. Talk to us!
Always keep the Appcon A-Headset Mount clean or close the screw cap, even if the Appcon is not
mounted. After removing the Appcon, please get used to screwing the lid back on again. Sometimes
the carbon cover sits loosely on the Appcon and remains in the mount when it is pulled out. Please
pull it out and push it back onto the Appcon. Attention: These are the two parts that can get lost.
As a general rule, you must always have pushed the supplied Appcon Protection Case (carbon
tube) over the Appcon. This is important to protect the thin-walled Appcon aluminium tube from
damage, e.g. by pushing it in with pointed objects.
