1. General
Thank you for choosing the KONTRONIK Spur
Gear (KSG). The KSG is especially designed
for the use with brushless motors in high
performance models.
2. Safety Notes
The KSG contains rotating parts, which are
freely accessible. Therefore you must not touch
e.g. the cogwheels or the shafts during
operation. Please check all moveable parts for
ease of movement before start.
Check the screws of the drive regularly.
Despite screw locking the screws may loosen
themselves e.g. by vibrations of an unbalanced
propeller.
When using the gearbox, please note:
propeller rpm = motor rpm / gear ratio
(The gear ratio of the KSG is: 4:1)
➢ As soon as a speed controller and a battery
are connected to the drive, it is possible that
the drive starts up (e.g. by operating error or
by electrical defect).
➢ An electric drive (especially with propeller)
can
cause
considerable

3. Mounting
The KSG offers multiple possibilities of
mounting. Depending on the version, it can be
mounted on the front, on the back or the sides.
Please find the exact bolt circles,
mounting points and dimensional drawings on
our homepage.
Please note, that after mounting the six
propeller screws, you must additionally
mount the two enclosed locknuts on the
front of the shaft. The red, plate-shaped
aluminum part into which the six propeller
screws are screwed, serves only as a driver
for the propeller on the shaft and does not
hold the propeller pull. The nuts secure the
propeller and prevent the propeller from
being pulled forward by the shaft.
4. Maintenance
The KSG needs no maintenance. Dis-
assembling is not recommended and may
damage the drive. It is sufficient to keep the
drive clean from dirt, dust and water. If
necessary to exchange ball bearings please
send the drive to us for service.
5. Warranty
The SOBEK Drives GmbH guarantees this
product to be free from factory defects in
material and workmanship for a period of 24
months from date of purchase and purchase
within the EU. Warranty for purchases made
outside the EU is in line with the respective
legal regulations. This warranty does not
cover: suitability for specific application,
components worn by use, application of
reverse or improper voltage, tampering,
misuse or shipping. Our warranty liability shall
be limited to repairing or replacing the unit to
our original specifications. All warranty claims
determine with opening or deconstructing the
product. Because we have no control over
the installation or use of these products, in no
case shall our liability exceed the original cost
of the product.
