GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The 2150 series PC Interface is an RS-
232/TTL-RS-485 interface module;
The 2250 series PC Interface is a USB/TTL-
RS-485 interface module;
both allow communication between a PC
with RS-232/USB interface port and a
Micronet/Televis protocol compatible
instrument connected via TTL port or RS-
485.
PCI2150
The device requires, in its appropriate
housing, the BlueCard activation module
supplied with the Eliwell software license.
PC Interface 2150/2250 series is available
in the 9 DIN module format and is power
supplied directly by mains.
INSTALLATION
The instrument is designed for wall or DIN
- omega rail mount.
The operating temperature range allowed
for proper operation is 0...55°C for humid-
ity values in the range between 10 and
90%.
It is necessary to ventilate the instrument
if installed inside electrical boards.
Do not mount the instruments in humid
and/or dirty rooms.
ELECTRICAL WIRING
Important/Warning! Switch the device
OFF before working on the
connections.
• Serial Connection RS-485: the device is
provided with screw terminal blocks for
wires ≤ 2.5 mm 2 . Connect the cables
respecting polarity (terminals - and + ).
The cable sheld should be connected to
Gnd terminal; the sheld shoud not be con-
nected to the earth ground.
• TTL Connection: the device is provided
with a 5-ways Molex connector. Use the
TTL cable or equivalent to connect direct-
ly the instrument.
• RS-232/USB serial connection: the device
is fitted with a DB9 female serial connec-
tor (PCI2150) or USB (PCI2250) to connect
the PC RS-232/USB port using the supplied
cable.
It is possible to install the device at higher
length by using good quality cable and
and laying the cable carefully respect to
EMC and/or RF (RadioFrequency) disturbs.
• Auxiliary Output: the device is provided
with screw terminal blocks for wires ≤ 2.5
mm 2 for auxiliary output 12V 250mA max
suitable to supply a single instrument. The
screw terminals consist in a common ter-
minal, a positive always under voltage and
a positive terminal interrupted by a N.O.
relay contact, controlled by the Eliwell
software.
• Power Supply: Check the power supply
voltage complies with the instrument's
requirements.
SOFTWARE LICENSE ACTIVATION
The BlueCard activation module supplied
with the software licence must be plugged
into the special slot so that the Televis
software can recognise the device correct-
ly.
To insert the BlueCard module remove
the cover by unscrewing the two fixing
screws.
Before performing this operation ensure
that the device is not powered or con-
nected to the power socket.
Push the BlueCard module into the special
slot; the module can be inserted in either
direction. Screw on the cover and then
switch on the interface module.
The PCInterface device with USB port
must be used in association to:
1) SW Televis Net (or 200) versions equal
to version 3.0.0 (or 6.13) or higher;
2) Operating system versions for PC Win
XP, Home or Professional or higher
SIGNALS
A series of leds on the device ensures
complete control of its status.
• (Device) Power Supply: LED Power ON.
• Auxilary Output active: LED Aux Out ON.
• Transmission (TX) / reception (RX) data
from Personal Computer: LED TX / RX RS-
232/USB blinking.
• Transmission (TX) / reception (RX) data
from an instrument on the network: LED
TX / RX RS-485 blinking.
• WD error (network communication
absence from PC during programme run-
ning): all TX and RX LED simultaneously
blinking with one second period.
• Error Reading BlueCard activation mod-
ule (module non present or fault): RX RS-
232/USB LED and
RX RS-485 (red) LED blinking with one sec-
ond period.
