BEFORE USE
•
Clean the lid, bowl, baskets and casing
using warm water and a little washing-up
liquid, and dry the parts carefully.
•
Fit the heating element and the control
panel in the bowl by inserting the pins on
the inside of the plastic unit down into the
grooves on the rear of the bowl.
Note! The heating element must be pushed
fully down to activate the safety switch. Other-
wise the appliance will not heat up.
USE
•
Only use oil recommended for deep frying.
Do not mix different types of oil, as they
may have different properties. Do not use
solid fats.
•
Check that the appliance is switched off,
and then pour the oil into the appliance
until the required level is reached. Fill the
oil to somewhere between the minimum
and maximum indicator on the bowl.
•
Place the lid on the bowl.
•
Plug in. Both indicator lights come on. Set
the temperature by turning the tempera-
ture selector. The thermostat light comes
on and remains on while the appliance
is heating up. Once the appliance has
reached the selected temperature, the
thermostat light will go off. The thermostat
light will go on and off during use, which
merely indicates that it is maintaining the
selected temperature.
•
Do not add the food until the oil has
reached the required temperature.
•
Remove the lid from the bowl.
•
Place the food in the baskets and lower
them carefully into the bowl. Make sure
the oil level does not rise to the edge of
the bowl.

Important! Be careful, as the oil may spit.
•
Put the lid on the appliance by pressing
the two plastic grooves on the lid over the
metal braces on the basket handles and
tilting the lid downwards towards the edge
of the basket. Always keep well hold of the
basket handles when putting the lid on and
taking it off.
•
Take care when removing the lid, as hot
steam may be released.
PREPARING FOODS
Before lowering the basket
•
Make sure food is completely dry before
immersing it in the hot oil.
•
Ensure that the food is roughly the same
size so that it cooks evenly. Avoid very
thick pieces.
•
Make sure you remove as much ice as
possible from frozen food. However, it
does not need to be defrosted before
cooking.
•
Avoid overfilling the basket.
Important! The handles may be very hot after
any prolonged period of use.
After cooking
•
Lift the baskets up out of the bowl and tilt
them so that they rest on the edge of the
bowl.
•
Allow the oil to drip from the food before
removing the baskets.
•
Set the temperature control to the lowest
possible temperature by turning it to the
left as far as possible.
•
Remove the plug from the socket
•
Allow the appliance to cool completely (1-2
hours).
Important! Never move the appliance when
there is hot oil in it and the lid is open.
