WARNING – Danger of Injury!

Danger of suffocation! Keep children
and animals away from the packaging
material.
■
The product is not a toy. Do not leave
children and animals unsupervised with
the product in order to avoid injuries!
■
Danger of burns from battery acid!
Batteries can be fatal if swallowed. The
battery and the product should there-
fore be kept out of the reach of children
and animals. If the battery is swallowed,
immediate medical attention must be
sought.
■
Danger of burns from battery acid! If
the battery leaks, avoid physical contact
with the battery acid. Wear protective
gloves if necessary. If you touch bat-
tery acid, rinse the affected areas with
abundant fresh water straight away and
consult a doctor immediately.
■
The product is intended to be used for
decoration of outside areas. The bat-
tery charges up in daylight via the so-
lar panel. This stored energy allows the
LED to glow in the dark.
■
The product is designed for personal
use only and is not intended for com-
mercial applications.
■
The product should only be used as
described in the operating instructions.
Any other use is deemed to be improper.
■
Protect the product from naked fl ames
and collisions.
■
Never immerse the product in water or
other liquids! It is only splashproof.

During extreme weather conditions
(e. g. storm, hail) or if the product will not
be used for a long time, switch off the
product and store it in a dry place.

Do not take the product apart. Have any
repairs done only by a specialist work-
shop or the customer service depart-
ment. The LED cannot be replaced.
■
Batteries must not be taken apart,
thrown into a fi re, immersed in liquids or
short-circuited.
■
Keep the solar panel clean so that the
greatest possible absorption of light is
ensured. Wipe down the solar panel
(and if necessary also the remain-
ing components of the product) with a
damp cloth. Do not use any caustic
or abrasive cleaning agents to clean
the product! They might damage the
surfaces.

Please Note: The ground spike is located
upside down in the housing of the solar
lights when it is delivered!
Check the items supplied for completeness
and transport damage. If you fi nd any
damage, do not use the product, but rather
contact the customer service department.
Remove any protective fi lms (e. g. from the
solar panel) and stickers. Never remove
the rating plate!
Switching On and Off
1. Slide the solar unit off the side of the
housing to release the solar unit, and
remove it upwards (see picture).
2. Slide the On / Off switch on the bottom
of the solar unit to the ON position to
switch on the solar light.
The battery can now charge up in day-
light. When darkness sets in, the LED
automatically switches on. When it gets
light, the LED switches off and the bat-
tery is charged up via the solar panel.
3. Place the solar unit on the housing and
slide it shut. When you do this, make
sure that the locking lugs of the housing
fi t in the corresponding recesses on the
solar unit.
4. Switch off the solar light when it is not
being used. To do this, slide the On / Off
switch to the OFF position.
PLEASE NOTE: The battery performance
may be severely restricted in temperatures
well below freezing.

Operating Instructions
Setting Up
The solar light should not be placed near
to other light sources such as street lamps
or other lamps, so that the LED can be
switched on automatically.
Place the solar light in a location where the
solar panel can absorb direct sunlight all
day long if possible.
Either place the solar light in a suitable
location or anchor it in the ground using the
ground spike.
1. Plug the ground spike into the opening
on the bottom of the solar light.
2. Plug the ground spike into the soil.

Disposal
Dispose of the packaging in an envi-
ronmentally friendly manner so that it
can be recycled.
The battery should be removed prior
to disposal of the product and dis-
posed of separately from the product
at suitable collection points.
This product is governed by the

Directive
on waste electrical and electronic
equipment (WEEE). Do not dispose
of the product as normal domestic
waste, but rather in an environmen-
tally friendly manner via an offi cially
approved waste disposal company.
Removing the Battery
Slide the solar unit off the side of the hous-
ing and remove it upwards. Press the lock-
ing lug towards the battery compartment
cover and remove it. You can then remove
and dispose of the battery.
