Molar Rotator
®
The Nitanium Molar Rotator's exclusive design fits an .036 x .072
lingual sheath to provide maximum control of maxillary first molars.
Both molar rotation and torque control can be improved with this
heat-activated nickel titanium appliance. The heat-activated nickel
titanium palatal wire provides light continuous force. After the
desired movement is completed, the rotator may be left in the mouth
to act as a retainer or transpalatal bar.
The Nitanium Molar Rotator is available in 10 individual sizes, in 2mm
increments: 26mm, 28mm, 30mm, 32mm, 34mm, 36mm, 38mm,
40mm, 42mm and 44mm.
1) When the mandibular permanent first molars are in a normal
position, measure in millimeters across the arch, central pit to central
pit. Then subtract 4mm from this measurement (Fig. 1). The result
will yield the size of the rotator to use in the maxilla and includes 1.5
to 2mm of over-correction from the width of the molars bands and
lingual sheaths. (When the rotation and expansion is greater then
4mm, we recommend you use the Nitanium Palatal Expander 2.)
2) Pre-size the molars with the molar band/sheath assemblies. Insert
rotator into both lingual sheath assemblies until the distal rotator
blade snaps into the latching indent of each sheath. (Fig. A) For
additional support, tie in the appliance by attaching a Hand-ee-Last
ligature or ligature wire from the front of each rotator arm to the back
of each rotator blade. (Fig. B)
3) Mix band cement and place in both molar bands.
4) Using the Ice Spray, chill the palatal wire of the rotator assembly.
(Fig. C) NOTE: Avoid spraying the molar bands. (Chilling the palatal
wire makes it easier to place the appliance.)
5) Take the chilled assembly, place and seat one molar band, and then
the other band. Check for secure fit until the cement has hardened.
Clean off excess cement after cement has set.
6) The rotator is activated when it is warmed by the mouth and
reaches 94° F.
7) To remove appliance, simply cut the Hand-ee-Last ligature or wire
ligature tie and snap rotator out of each molar sheath.
8) If desired, additional adjustments can be made to the appliance
using the Nitanium Expander Adjusting Plier (Catalog #200-450), as
shown below. (Fig. D)
Il prodotto Nitanium Molar Rotator viene utilizzato con una guaina linguale da 0,036
pollice x 0,072 pollice (0,914mm x 1,828mm) e consente il massimo controllo dei
primi molari mascellari. Grazie a questo apparecchio in nichel titanio ad attivazione
termica, è possibile migliorare sia la rotazione dei molari che la regolazione della
forza di rotazione. Il filo palatale in nichel titanio ad attivazione termica applica una
forza leggera e continua. Una volta completato il movimento previsto, il rotatore
può essere lasciato in bocca come retainer o barra transpalatale.
Il dispositivo Nitanium Molar Rotator è disponibile in 10 diverse misure, ad incrementi
di 2mm: 26mm, 28mm, 30mm, 32mm, 34mm, 38mm, 40mm, 42mm e 44mm.
1) Quando i primi molari mandibolari permanenti sono in posizione normale,
misurare in millimetri la distanza trasversale dell'arco, dall'incavo centrale all'incavo
centrale. Sottrarre 4mm dalla misura così ottenuta (Fig. 1). Il risultato corrisponde alla
misura del rotatore da utilizzare nella mascella ed include 1,5-2mm di correzione in più
dovuti allo spessore delle bande molari e delle guaine linguali. (Quando la rotazione
e l'espansione superano 4mm, si consiglia di utilizzare il Nitanium Palatal Expander 2.)
2) Controllare la misura dei molari con la banda e la guaina assemblate. Inserire il
rotatore in entrambe le guaine linguali fino a quando la lama distale del rotatore si
aggancia nell'apposita scanalatura di fissaggio di ciascuna guaina (Fig. A). Per un
ulteriore sostegno, fissare l'apparecchio collegando con un laccio Hand-ee-Last o
un filo il lato anteriore di ciascun braccio del rotatore a quello posteriore di ciascun
lama (Fig. B).
3) Miscelare il cemento per banda e applicarlo in entrambe le bande molari.
4) Raffreddare con un'applicazione di Ice Spray il filo palatale del rotatore assemblato
(Fig. C). NOTA: evitare di spruzzare il prodotto sulle bande molari. (Il raffreddamento
del filo palatale agevola l'inserimento dell'apparecchio.)
5) Tenendo in mano il gruppo raffreddato, collocare e fissare le due bande molari,
una dopo l'altra. Verificare che la banda sia collocata correttamente in sede mentre
il cemento si indurisce. Una volta che il cemento si è indurito, pulire i residui.
6) Il rotatore viene attivato quando si riscalda nella bocca e raggiunge i 34,4°C.
7) Per rimuovere l'apparecchio, è sufficiente tagliare il laccio Hand-ee-Last o il filo e
staccare il rotatore da ogni guaina molare.
8) Per effettuare ulteriori rettifiche, se necessario, utilizzare le pinze Nitanium Expander
Adjusting Plier (N. di catalogo 200-450), come illustrato sotto (Fig. D).
El diseño exclusivo del Nitanium Molar Rotator es apto para una vaina lingual de
0,036 pulg. x 0,072 pulg. (0,914mm x 1,828mm) que ofrece óptimo control de los
primeros molares maxilares. Se puede mejorar el control de rotación y torsión de los
molares con este aparato de níquel-titanio activado por calor. El alambre palatal de
níquel-titanio activado por calor ejerce una ligera fuerza continua. Cuando se logran
los movimientos deseados, puede dejar el rotador en la cavidad oral a manera de
retenedor o barra transpalatal.
El Nitanium Molar Rotator está disponible en 10 tamaños, en incrementos de 2mm:
26mm, 28mm, 30mm, 32mm, 34mm, 36mm, 38mm, 40mm, 42mm y 44mm.
1) Cuando los primeros molares mandibulares permanentes estén en posición normal,

ligue el aparato con una ligadura Hand-ee-Last o alambre para ligadura desde el
aspecto frontal de cada brazo del rotador hacia la parte posterior de cada cuchilla
del rotador. (Fig. B).
3) Mezcle el cemento para las bandas y colóquelo en ambas bandas molares.
4) Utilice el rocío Ice Spray y enfríe el alambre palatal del rotador. (Fig. C) NOTA:
Evite rociar las bandas molares. (Es más fácil colocar el aparato cuando se enfría el
alambre palatal.)
5) Sujete el rotador enfriado, coloque y asiente una banda molar, luego la otra banda.
Verifique que hayan quedado debidamente colocadas hasta que el cemento fragüe.
Cuando haya fraguado, limpie el exceso de cemento.
6) El rotador se activará cuando se caliente dentro de la cavidad oral y llegue a una
temperatura de 34,4°C.
7) Para retirar el aparato, simplemente corte la ligadura Hand-ee-Last o la ligadura de
alambre y saque el rotador de cada vaina molar.
8) Si lo desea, puede hacer más modificaciones al aparato con el alicate Nitanium
Expander Adjusting Plier (Pieza Nº200-450), como se muestra abajo. (Fig. D).

La conception unique du Nitanium Molar Rotator s'adapte à une attache linguale
0,036 pouce x 0,072 pouce (0,914mm x 1,828mm) pour offrir un contrôle maximal des
premières molaires de la mâchoire supérieure. La rotation des molaires et le contrôle du
couple peuvent être amélioré grâce à cet appareil en titane-nickel à action thermique.
Ce fil palatal en titane-nickel à action thermique applique une légère pression de
manière continue. Une fois les mouvements désirés obtenus, le rotateur peut être
laissé en bouche et servir d'appareillage orthodontique ou de barre transpalatale.
Il existe 10 tailles de Nitanium Molar Rotator, progressant par paliers de 2mm: 26mm,
28mm, 30mm, 32mm, 34mm, 36mm, 38mm, 40mm, 42mm et 44mm.
1) Une fois les premières molaires de la mâchoire inférieure mises en position
normale, mesurer la distance en millimètres en travers l'arcade, d'une fosse centrale à
l'autre. Soustraire 4mm de cette valeur (figure 1). Le résultat est la taille du rotateur à
utiliser pour l'arcade supérieure; elle comporte une correction de 1,5 à 2mm prenant
en compte les bagues molaires et les attaches linguales. (Lorsque la rotation et
l'expansion sont supérieures à 4mm, nous recommandons l'utilisation du Nitanium
Palatal Expander 2.)
2) Faites une mesure préliminaire des molaires, en vous servant des bagues et des
attaches. Insérez le rotateur dans les deux attaches linguales jusqu'à ce que la lame
distale du rotateur se mette en place dans l'encoche prévue sur chacune des attaches.
(fig. A) Pour plus de support, ancrez l'appareil avec une ligature Hand-ee-Last ou une
ligature métallique de la partie avant de chacun des bras d'un rotateur à la partie
arrière de la lame de chaque rotateur. (fig. B)
3) Mélangez le ciment destiné aux bagues et mettez les deux bagues en place sur
les molaires.
4) À l'aide du Ice Spray, refroidissez le fil palatal du rotateur. (fig. C) REMARQUE : Évitez
d'asperger les bagues pour molaires. (Le fait de refroidir le fil palatal facilite la mise en
place de l'appareil).
5) L'ensemble étant refroidi, posez l'une des bagues, puis la seconde. Vérifiez que la
position est bien ferme, jusqu'au moment où le ciment commence à prendre. Nettoyez
l'excédent de ciment, une fois celui-ci complètement durci.
6) Le rotateur est activé lorsqu'il est réchauffé par la bouche et atteint la température
de 34,4°C.
7) Pour retirer l'appareil, coupez simplement la ligature Hand-ee-Last ou la ligature
métallique, et faites sortir le rotateur de chaque attache molaire.
8) Si nécessaire, vous pouvez encore ajuster l'appareil en utilisant la pince Nitanium
Expander Adjusting Plier (no de catalogue 200-450), comme indiqué ci-dessous.

Mit seinem exklusiven Design paßt der Nitanium Molar Rotator in einen 0,036
Zoll x 0,072 Zoll (0,914mm x 1,828mm) großen Mantel und ermöglicht eine
optimale Kontrolle der maxillaren ersten Molaren. Dieser wärmeaktivierte
Nickel-Titan-Apparat verbessert die Molardrehung und die Torque-Kontrolle. Der
wärmeaktivierte Nickel-Titan-Palataldraht übt eine schwache kontinuierliche
Kraft aus. Nach Abschluß der gewünschten Bewegung kann der Rotator als
Retentionsvorrichtung oder als transpalatale Brücke im Mund belassen werden.
Der Nitanium Molar Rotator ist in 10 verschiedenen Größen in 2mm-Abständen
erhältlich: 26mm, 28mm, 30mm, 32mm, 34mm, 36mm, 38mm, 40mm, 42mm
und 44mm.
1) Sofern die mandibulären endgültigen ersten Molaren normal stehen, wird
der Abstand über den Bogen in Millimetern gemessen (Zentralvertiefung zu
Zentralvertiefung). Von diesem Wert 4mm abziehen (Abb. 1). Das Ergebnis gibt
die Größe des in der Maxilla zu verwendenden Rotators an und berücksichtigt
eine Überkorrektur von 1,5 bis 2mm von der Breite der Molarbänder und der
lingualen Mäntel. (Sind die Drehung und Dehnung größer als 4mm, sollte der
Nitanium Palatal Expander 2 verwendet werden.)
2) Die Größe der Molaren mit der Molarband/Mantel-Einheit vorabmessen.
Den Rotator in beide Lingualmäntel einlegen, bis das distale Rotatorblatt
in die Sperrvertiefung jedes Mantels einrastet (Abb. A). Zur zusätzlichen
Unterstützung den Apparat durch Anbringung einer Hand-ee-Last Ligatur
oder eines Ligaturdrahts von der Vorderseite jedes Rotatorarms zur Rückseite
jedes Rotatorblatts einbinden. (Abb. B)
3) Bandzement mischen und auf beide Molarbänder aufbringen.
4) Den Palataldraht des Rotators mit Ice Spray kühlen (Abb. C). HINWEIS:
Nicht auf die Molarbänder sprühen. (Abkühlen des Palataldrahts erleichtert das
Anlegen des Apparats.)
5) An der gekühlten Vorrichtung zuerst das eine und dann das andere
Molarband einsetzen. Auf festen Sitz prüfen, bis der Zement gehärtet ist. Nach
Abhärtung überschüssigen Zement entfernen.
6) Der Rotator wird durch die Mundwärme aktiviert und erreicht 34,4° C.
7) Zum Abnehmen des Apparats einfach die Hand-ee-Last Ligatur oder
die Drahtligaturbefestigung durchschneiden, und den Rotator aus jedem
Molarmantel drücken.
8) Nach Wunsch können mit Hilfe der Nitanium Expander Adjusting Plier
(Bestell-Nr. 200-450) weitere Einstellungskorrekturen am Apparat vorgenommen
werden (siehe folgende Abbildung, Abb. D).
