GROWING RESOURCES
Your retailer should be the best source of information to help you get growing. Most
retailers have all the items you need including seeds to help you be successful. They should have in stock seedling starter mix, starter pucks,
coco mix, rock wool products, a wide variety of seeds, plant nutrients and supplements.
The mini greenhouse kit is the perfect all-in-one product to help you start growing fresh herbs and micro-greens indoors, all year round.
Getting started is simple once you set up your mini greenhouse kit. It is designed to provide you with all the essential tools to get your
indoors garden started.
SELECTING SEEDS
The first step is to select your seeds. Choosing the right greens is very important, as some plants will grow indoors better than others. The mini
Greenhouse kit is perfect fort plants such as sprouts and wheat grass, leafy vegetables such as lettuce and kale, as well as herbs such as
oregano, basil, parsley and cilantro.
GERMINATION
When starting to grow from seeds, some plants will need a little help getting started. Each plant will have different starting requirements so
be sure to follow directions on the seed package. If you seeds require help with germination, keep then in a warm, moist environment to
sprout before you plant them. You can create a perfect germination environments by wrapping them in a wet paper towel, and storing
them in a plastic zip top style bag in a warm location for as long as the seed pack recommends.
PLANTING
You can plant directly into the 1020 tray included with your garden, or use an insert tray to divide plants up. Our Heavy Duty 1020 tray will
accommodate any industry standard 10 by 20 inch insert trays. Fill your trays with moist soiless planting medium or seedling starting mix and
follow the directions on the seed package for seed spacing and planting depth. Depending on the seeds you are starting, you may only
need to fill your trays ½ to ¾ full with planting medium.
LIGHTING
Keep your plants on a regular daily schedule by turning the lights on in the morning, and off at night before going to bed. If you choose to
use a timer, set it for 12-18 hours of light per day.
WATERING
From here on, maintaining your plants is simple. Always make sure the soiless medium is kept moist, but not soaking wet. Mist with water
once your seeds have been planted, the roots will soak up as much water as they need. Remember, over-watering can be just as harmful
to your plants as under-watering.
