9. RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CHOOSING THE POSITION TO INSTALL THE SIREN
Warnings for installation of the GW 20490 self-powered siren recommended and non-recommended
situations.

AND THE TRANSMITTER
WARNING: before drilling holes in the wall to fix the siren, check that the chosen position receives a good clear
signal from the control unit. Test it by connecting the siren to the power supply, without closing the cover, and place
it where you intend to fix it to the wall, and then arm the control unit with the remote control. When the control unit
is armed, the LED on the siren should flash. If the LED do not flash, the signal is too weak and you will have to
find a more suitable place to install the siren.

The diagram below shows an example of the installation positions where the siren receiver levels could be
compromised by a large cantilever roof, by eaves and copper guttering. These disturbing elements can reduce the
receiver capacity of the siren, in some cases immediately, in other cases as time goes by.
