2 Safety rules
2.1
Introduction
This chapter deals with the safety instructions which must absolutely be followed when using the
shearing clippers.
It is obligatory for all persons working on and with the clippers to read the Operating
instructions.
The Operating instructions must be kept safely in the packaging case and be accessible at
all times.
2.2
Symbols and warning notes
Different symbols are used in the Operating instructions. These symbols point out potential
danger or highlight technical information which, if ignored, may lead to personal injury and
damage to material, or render operation uneconomical.
Danger symbol
Warning
Flags a potentially dangerous situation. May lead to serious injury or death, if ignored.
Caution
Flags a potentially dangerous situation. May lead to minor or slight injury, if ignored.
Information symbol
Note
Not observing this note may lead to faulty operation or damage.
Figure reference
This symbol, with Figure number (in the text), refers to the corresponding Figure at the end of
these instructions.
2.3
Designated use
The designated use of the shearing clippers is described in Chapter 1.2.
For safe operation, note:
The information in Chapter 1.3 "Technical data" represents binding limits of operation and
characteristics.
Shearing other types of animals, especially dangerous predators and such like, is deemed a
malpractice. This may result in dangerous and life-threatening situations.
2.4
Basic safety rules
2.4.1 Power connections
Do not plug into damaged sockets. Faulty electrical installations may result in electric shock or
short circuits. External sockets should be protected by residual current protection. Observe the
relevant regulations of your country.
