Overview
The LINDY USB Infrared Adaptor provides Infrared connectivity
through a standard USB port. It allows data transfer between any
Windows Compatible PC or Notebook with USB support. Works
with PCs, notebooks, printers, mobile phones, PDA's, and other
peripheral devices using the IrDA standard. Software for data
transfer is not included. The manufacturer of your infrared device
will usually provide this software.

Driver Installation
When the USB Infrared Adaptor is connected to the USB port
Windows will automatically detect the new device and ask for the
drivers. Insert the driver disk and follow the installation
instructions to install the drivers.
The Windows 98 operating system provides all the drivers
necessary to install virtual COM and LPT ports. Under Windows
ME and 2000 however, the COM and LPT ports require additional
drivers from the manufacturer of your infrared device. Some
manufacturers of mobile phones, PDA's etc offer these drivers
free of charge. Others may offer downloads from their websites as
freeware.

Übersicht
Der USB Infrarot Adapter stellt über den USB-Port eine Infrarot-
Schnittstelle zur Verfügung. Diese ermöglicht die Datenübertra-
gung zwischen PCs, Notebooks, Druckern, Handys und anderen
Peripheriegeräten, die dem IRDA-Standard entsprechen. Soft-
ware für Datentransfer ist im Lieferumfang nicht enthalten. Diese
liegt Ihrem Infrarot-Peripheriegerät bereits bei oder ist beim
Hersteller zu beziehen.

Treiberinstallation
Sobald Sie den USB Infrarot Adapter an den USB-Port
anschließen, wird das Gerät automatisch erkannt und nach
Treibern gefragt. Legen Sie dann die Treiber-Diskette ein und
installieren Sie die Treiber gemäß den Anweisungen auf dem
Bildschirm.
Unter Windows 98 bringt das Betriebssystem alle Komponenten
mit um virtuelle COM- und LPT-Ports einzurichten.
Bei Windows ME und Windows 2000 hingegen werden keine
virtuellen COM- und LPT-Ports aktiviert. Sie benötigen daher
zusätzliche bzw. neue Treiber, die Sie beispielsweise beim
Hersteller Ihres Infrarot-Gerätes bekommen. Einige
Mobiltelefonhersteller bieten solche Treiber kostenlos an.
Außerdem finden Sie auch im Internet Treiber, zum Teil als
Freeware.
