CONRAD WLAN REPEATER N300
Item no. 97 56 01
Use in accordance with manufacturer's instructions
This product is intended to increase the range of an existing WLAN network. The WLAN network
ensures the transfer of the signal between the existing router and the repeater. The product
therefore does not provide a new WLAN network but strengthens the existing one. A LAN or
WLAN network also connects the computer(s) and the repeater.
The power is supplied from the wall plug transformer included in the delivery.
Always observe the safety instructions and all other information included in these operating
instructions.
This product complies with the applicable National and European requirements. All names

Connection and Getting Started
• Before connecting the product, srew the two WLAN antennas tightly onto the back side of the
device.
• Next, connect the wall plug transformer to the repeater and connect it to the power supply
plug.
• The product can be confi gured via WPS or manually.
• If your main router supports WPS, we recommend that you use it for the confi guration; other-
wise you will have to confi gure the device manually.
• Regardless of which method you use, please ensure that the existing router is on and con-
nected to the internet in advance.
Confi guration via WPS
• First press the WPS button on your router until it starts blinking. (Please also refer to the
instructions for your router.)
• When the router is in search mode, press and hold the WPS button on the repeater for about
3 seconds. As soon as you release the button, the ethernet LED starts to blink.
• A few seconds after, the LEDs should stop blinking. The confi guration is thus complete.
Manual confi guration
• When the repeater has not yet been confi gured, an unsecured network is activated. You have
now the ability to use this WLAN network for the confi guration or, alternatively, to connect the
LAN socket of the repeater to the LAN socket on your computer using a network cable (1:1
connected).
• The repeater has the IP address 192.168.1.250. I.e., you have to assign the IP address
192.168.1.X to your computer. Here, X is a value between 2 and 249. The subnet mask has
to be set to 255.255.255.0.
• Before changing the IP address, your computer has to be connected to the repeater via
WLAN or a LAN cable.
• For the confi guration under Windows XP, open the start menu, go to the control panel and
afterwards to network connections.
Next, right-click the corresponding network connection and open its properties.
Double-click the tab Internet Protocol "(TCP/IP)". The window that opens will allow you to
assign the IP address and the subnet mask (e.g., 192.168.1.247; 255.255.255.0).
Then, click "OK" twice to confi rm.
• For the confi guration under Windows Vista or Windows 7, right-click the network symbol in
the bottom right taskbar and open the Network and Sharing Center.
Next, click LAN connection, resp., wireless network connection, and go to "properties" in the
window that opens.
Open the properties of the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
Reenter the IP address and the subnet mask. Then, click "OK" twice to confi rm.
• Start your internet browser and enter http://192.168.1.250/ into your address bar. Confi rm
your input using the Enter key.
In the small window, enter the unsername "admin" and the password "password". The web
interface of the repeater will open.
• Click on "Wireless" and then on "Basic."
Open the WLAN search page by clicking "Site Survey".
Wait until the product has reached room temperature before using it. This may take
several hours.
• Do not leave packing materials unattended. They may become dangerous play-
things for children.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer's
Liability Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Materials are
to be observed.
• In schools, educational centres, hobby and self-help workshops, the operation of
the product has to be supervised by trained employees.
• Handle the product with care. The product can be damaged if crushed, struck or
dropped, even from a low height.
• If you have any questions that are not answered in this instruction manual, please
contact our technical support centre or consult a professional.
Regardless of which option you chose for your confi guration (WLAN or LAN), be
sure to assign a static IP address to your network connection in both cases. To do
this, proceed as follows:
