Operating instructions
Note: Things to consider in order to avoid paper jams and overloading. The shredder
is equipped with an overload protection which automatically turns off the motor during
overload. In order to prevent the overload protection from tripping do the following:
Never use the product for more than 3 minutes at a time. Let it rest for at
least 30 min between each 3 min period of use.
Trying to shred more than 5 sheets at a time will result in the shredder
being overloaded and cause the feed mechanism to cycle back and forth.
Set the function selector to REV mode if this should occur. This will cause
the feed mechanism to eject any jammed paper.
Shredding paper stock that is thicker than standard will reduce the number
of sheets that can be shredded simultaneously. Max sheet width: 22 cm (A4).
If you want to shred smaller sheets of paper, you should feed them directly
into the centre of the feeder opening, otherwise, the shredder will not start
automatically.
If the overload protection has tripped, do the following:
1.
Turn the shredder off using the power switch (3). Unplug the mains
lead and let the shredder cool down for 30 min before resuming work.
With the mains lead unplugged, use an appropriate tool to carefully remove
any paper that might have jammed.
2.
Plug the mains lead back into a wall socket, turn on the shredder and set
the function selector to REV mode. Any jammed papers should now be ejected.
3.
Set the function selector back into AUTO mode and it should now be ready
for normal use.
