1. Unfold the Flame Adjuster and turn it clockwise to the OFF position. See
Illustration 1.
2. Check that the O-ring and the Flat Gasket on the stove Valve Body are
present and in good condition. See Illustration 2.
3. Screw the Canister onto the stove Valve Body until the Canister is snugly
attached. See Illustration 3.
4. Place the Canister in an upright position so that the fuel is withdrawn
from the top of the Canister.
5. Check for leaks. If you smell gas, hear hissing or leaks are found, DO
NOT use the stove. Remove the Canister and call your MSR retailer or
the MSR Product Service Center for advice.
6. Rotate the Pot Supports clockwise into the open position until they stop.

7. Unfold the Heat Reflector, press it flat and place the stove on top of the
Heat Reflector. See Illustration 5.
8. Unfold the Windscreen and place around the burner only. Important!
Ensure that the Canister is outside of the Windscreen and away from
any sources of heat or flame. See Illustration 6.
9. Ensure that the stove is operated at least 48 inches away from flamma-
ble materials on all sides including the top of the stove.
