Problems
The appliance does not

Possible Causes
The power cord has not been
plugged in

Some types of ingredients require
to be mixed several times during
cooking
You are using types of foods that
must be cooked using traditional
methods
There is too much food in the
container
The basket has not been posi-
tioned correctly in the container
You are cooking food that is too
greasy
Residues of grease from previous
fryings have remained in the
container
You are not using the type of po-
tato suitable for frying
The crispness of the fries depends
on the amount of water they con-
tain and the amount of oil or fat
Solutions
Insert the plug into an electrical outlet
which must be earthed
Set the timer for the preparation
reinsert the container inside the appli-
ance
Disconnect the plug and contact the
service center immediately
Lessen the ingredients in the basket. A
smaller quantity of food allows a more
uniform cooking
Turn the temperature setting knob to
the required temperature. See the rec-
ipe book
Add minutes by manually setting the
timer
The ingredients that are on top or that
are covered by others (chips) must be
mixed during cooking
Use baked food or brush the food be-
fore placing it in the basket.
WARNING Never pour the oil directly
into the basket.

Insert the container correctly in its
lodging
When frying more fatty ingredients, more oil
is deposited in the container. The oil produc-
es white smoke during cooking. This how-
ever has no effect on the preparation of the
ingredients or on the appliance
White smoke is caused by the heating of
the grease or oil in the container. Thor-
oughly clean the container after each
use
Turn the potatoes often during cook-
ing, rinse them well before cooking to
remove all the starch, cut the potatoes
into small pieces to facilitate cooking
