Configuration Instructions
Please read before installation.
The FCU controller (model numbers: SMC5500050407, SMC5300020401, FCABACPSS002, SMC55-HOSP, SMC53-HOSP) must be correctly
configured for the HVAC System. The Palladiom thermostat is used to configure the FCU controller. The thermostat must be connected to the FCU
controller and both must be powered to set a configuration.
Step 1: Determine the Basic Configuration for the System
Determine the basic configuration number of your system using the table below.
System Configuration
(Pipe Configuration)
As-Is
• 4 -pipe
• 2 -pipe cooling with resistive
heating element
• 2 -pipe heating only
• 2 -pipe cooling only
• 2 -pipe with a changeover sensor
* For Floating Point Valves, choose On/Off Relays, then see Advanced Configuration parameters 60 and 61 on page 2. Also, see Application Note #630 (P/N 048630) at www.lutron.com
** Simultaneous 0 – 10 V- and relay controls available in SMC55-HOSP version 5010 or later and SMC5500050407 version 5008 or later.
Step 2: Set the Basic Configuration
Configure the basic configuration you selected in Step 1 by following the steps below:
Enter Basic Configuration Mode:
• I f the thermostat has been powered for over 15 minutes, cycle power to the
thermostat. This can be done by removing power with the thermostat's circuit breaker
or by carefully pulling the thermostat from the adapter by hand and removing the
4-wire harness from the back of the thermostat. The previously saved settings are
stored during power cycles.
• H old the °C | °F and
buttons for 3 seconds. Once the display begins to flash,
release both buttons and hold only the °C | °F button for 3 seconds.
• T he thermostat will enter the Basic Configuration Mode (

Set the Basic Configuration:
• O nce in the Basic Configuration Mode, tap the } or { buttons to display the desired
configuration number. Only the supported options are displayed.
• H old the u button for 3 seconds to save this configuration. The display will flash,
then normal operation will begin.
Step 3: Set the Advanced Configuration (Optional)
Review the Advanced Configuration Parameters Table on the next page. If any values
need to be changed, enter Advanced Configuration Mode using the steps below. To enter
Advanced Configuration Mode, you must have already saved a basic configuration and
exited to the normal operating mode.
Enter Advanced Configuration Mode:
• I f the thermostat has been powered for over 15 minutes, cycle power to the thermostat.
Your previously saved settings are stored during power cycles.
• H old the °C | °F and
buttons for 3 seconds. Once the display begins to flash,

• T he thermostat will enter the Advanced Configuration Mode's Parameter Menu (
"P", "Set", and 2 circles filled on the display.
Select a Parameter to Modify:
• Tap the } or { buttons to change parameter identification number.
• Tap the u button to select the parameter.
• T he thermostat will enter the Parameter Value Selection Menu (
