HDMI & IR Cat.6 Extender Pro 40m
EINFÜHRUNG & EIGENSCHAFTEN
Dieser Extender überträgt HDMI Full HD 1080p, 3D und IR Fernbedienungssignale über ein
hochwertiges Cat.6 Verbindungskabel bis zu einer Länge von 40m. Die Maximallänge von 40m kann
nur mit sehr hochwertigem abgeschirmten Cat.6 PIMF Kabel erreicht werden, z.B. LINDY Art.-Nr.
45585 - 45591 oder 45366 - 45371. Signale einer IR Fernbedienung werden über die beiliegenden IR
Sender- und Empfängerkabel unterstützt (keine CEC-Unterstützung). Der Extender unterstützt HDCP
aber keine Übertragung der EDID / DDC Daten des Monitors / Displays / TVs. Die EDID / DDC Daten
des Monitors / Displays / TVs müssen in den Transmitter kopiert werden und werden fortan vom
Transmitter emuliert.
INSTALLATION & BETRIEB
Als erstes müssen die EDID / DDC Daten des Monitors / Displays / TVs in den Transmitter kopiert
werden: Schalten Sie den Monitor aus und verbinden Sie Monitor und Transmitter mit einem HDMI
Kabel. Schalten Sie den Monitor ein und warten Sie bis er vollständig eingeschaltet ist. Schließen Sie
dann das Netzteil am Transmitter an und kopieren Sie die EDID Daten in den Transmitter: die grüne
LED leuchtet kurz auf und erlischt, während die gelbe LED weiter blinkt. Dies dauert nur wenige
Sekunden. Sie können danach mit der regulären Installation beginnen.
Verwenden Sie zur Verbindung von Transmitter und Receiver ein sehr hochwertiges Cat.6 Kabel der
passenden Länge (LINDY Artikelnummern siehe oben). Verbinden Sie den Transmitter mit der HDMI
Quelle und den Receiver mit dem HDMI Display / Monitor / TV mit geeigneten HDMI Kabeln bis
maximal 5m Länge. Schließen Sie das IR Transmitterkabel (blauer Stecker) an den Transmitter und
das IR Receiverkabel (rosafarbener Stecker) an den Receiver an. Platzieren sie den IR-Sensor so,
dass er das Signal der Fernbedienung aufnehmen kann, und den IR-Transmitter so vor dem Gerät,
dass er das Signal an die HDMI Quelle weitergeben kann.
Schalten Sie nun alle Geräte ein, beginnend von der HDMI Signalquelle.
Die gelbe LED am Transmitter blinkt bei Anschluss des Netzteiles und leuchtet kontinuierlich wenn
die Verbindung zur HDMI Signalquelle erfolgreich hergestellt wurde.
Die gelbe LED am Receiver leuchtet kontinuierlich bei Anschluss des Netzteils.
Die grüne LED am Receiver leuchtet kontinuierlich bei erfolgreicher Verbindung zum Transmitter
über das Cat.6 Kabel.
Problembeseitigung
Falls der Extender kein oder nur ein gestörtes Bild überträgt prüfen Sie bitte
• Ob Sie die EDID Daten des Monitors / Displays / TVs in den Transmitter kopiert haben wie oben
beschrieben. Falls Sie einen anderen Monitor anschließen wiederholen Sie bitte den Kopier-
vorgang. Der Extender kann nur korrekt funktionieren wenn der Transmitter die korrekten EDID
Daten des Monitors für die HDMI Signalquelle emuliert.
• die LED Anzeigen wie oben beschrieben zur Eingrenzung des Problems
• Ob Sie ein wirklich hochwertiges Cat.6 Kabel wie oben angegeben verwenden
• Falls dies nicht hilft, versuchen Sie es mit einem maximal 10m langen Cat.6 Kabel. Und ver-
suchen Sie es mit kürzeren HDMI Kabeln. Falls dies zum Erfolg führt ist die Signalqualität Ihrer
HDMI Signalquelle nicht hoch und stabil genug. Tauschen Sie Ihre HDMI Signalquelle gegen
eine mit höherer Signalqualität oder ermitteln Sie die maximale Kabellänge, die Ihre HDMI Quelle
unterstützen kann.

Die Europäische WEEE Direktive sowie das deutsche Elektro- und Elektronikgerätegesetz – ElektroG
verbieten das Entsorgen von Elektro- und Elektronikgeräten über die Hausmülltonne! Diese Geräte sind den lokalen
Sammelsystemen bzw. örtlichen Sammelstellen zuzuführen. Die Kosten und Verantwortung für den Recyclingprozess

Introduction & Features
Thank you for purchasing the LINDY HDMI & IR CAT6 Extender. It transmits HDMI signals up to
Full HD 1080p, 3D and IR remote control signals over a CAT6 cable up to 40m. The full length of
40m can only be reached when using very high quality shielded CAT6 PIMF cable like the LINDY
series No.45585 - 45591 or No.45366 - 45371. IR Remote control signals are supported using the
included IR transmitter and IR receiver cables (CEC is not supported). The extender supports
HDCP but does not transmit EDID/DDC data. EDID/DDC data of the display/monitor have to be
copied into the transmitter and will then be emulated continuously to the HDMI source.
Installation & Operation
Before you install the extender the EDID / DDC data of the display / monitor / TV must be copied
into the transmitter: Switch off the display and connect the HDMI cable between display and
transmitter. Switch on the display and wait until it has fully switched on. Connect the power supply
and power up the transmitter. It takes a few seconds to copy the EDID data into the transmitter: The
green LED will flash for a moment and then go out while the yellow LED keeps flashing. Now
disconnect the transmitter and start the regular installation.
Use a high quality CAT6 connection cable of appropriate length (see LINDY numbers above)
between transmitter and receiver. Connect the Transmitter to the HDMI source using HDMI cable
not longer than 5m. Connect the Receiver to the HDMI display / monitor / TV using HDMI cable not
longer than 5m. Connect the IR transmitter (blue connector) to the transmitter unit and place IR
transmitter cable so the IR signal can be recognized by the IR sensor in the HDMI source. Connect
the IR receiver (pink connector) to the receiver unit and place the cable end (IR sensor) so it can
recognize the IR signal from the remote control.
Switch on the devices starting from the HDMI source.
On the transmitter, the yellow LED flashes when powered and turns on continuously when the
HDMI connection to the sink has been successfully established.
On the receiver, the yellow LED turns on continuously when powered. Its green LED turns on
continuously when the Cat.6 cable connection has been successfully established.
Trouble Shooting
If the extender shows no picture at all or a distorted picture please
• Check if you have copied the EDID data of the monitor correctly. Repeat the EDID copy process
• Check the LEDs as described above for a better understanding of the problem
• Check if you have really used a high quality LINDY CAT6 cable as mentioned above
• If the above does not help try a CAT6 cable of 10m length. And try shorter HDMI cables. If this
and electronic equipment. It is no longer allowable to simply throw away electrical and electronic equipment. Instead,
these products must enter the recycling process. Each individual EU member state has implemented the WEEE
regulations into national law in slightly different ways. Please follow your national law when you want to dispose of any
electrical or electronic products. More details can be obtained from your national WEEE recycling agency.

works OK, the HDMI signal of your HDMI source does not provide the required quality and
stability for larger distances. Try to exchange it with a higher quality HDMI signal source or
check out the maximum cable length your HDMI source can support.
