a) General Information
• The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. This may become
dangerous playing material for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high
humidity, moisture, flammable gases, steam and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and
protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed
if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height
can damage the product
• Do not use this product in hospitals or medical institutions. Although the product
only emits relatively weak radio signals, these may lead to the malfunction of
life-support systems. The same may also apply to other zones.
• The product must only be used in dry interiors, it must not get damp or wet.
• Consult an expert when in doubt about the operation, safety or connection of the
appliance.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs must only be completed by a technician

• Do not look into the beam directly or with optical instruments!
c) Batteries
• Correct polarity must be observed while inserting the battery.
• The battery should be removed from the device if it is not used for a long period of
time to avoid damage through leaking. Leaking or damaged batteries might cause
acid burns when in contact with skin, therefore use suitable protective gloves to
handle corrupted batteries.
• Batteries must be kept out of reach of children. Do not leave batteries lying
around, as there is risk, that children or pets swallow them.
• Batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into fire. Never
recharge nonrechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion!
Operating Elements
A Control-LED (lights up on use of buttons)
B Keypad for switching channels 1 bis 4 (left column
"ON" = On, right column "OFF" = Off)
C Coding switch I, II, III, IV for one of the four address
codes
D Battery compartment
Inserting/Replacing the Battery
Open the battery compartment (D) on the back of the handheld radio transmitter and insert a
type "23A" battery with the correct polarity (observe imprint in the battery compartment or the
figure above). Close the battery compartment again.
The batteries need to be replaced if the range of the handheld radio transmitter is significantly
reduced or the control-LED (A) no longer lights when the buttons are used.
Setting the Address Codes
One of the four address codes (I, II, III, IV) can be set on both the handheld radio transmitter
and the radio-controlled switch socket. Therefore, up to four identical radio-controlled switch
sets can be operated without influencing each other.
Select one of the address codes (I, II, III, IV) on the handheld radio transmitter via the sliding
switch (C). Set exactly the same address code on the radio-controlled switch socket(s).
If you set a different code on the handheld radio transmitter and the radio- controlled
switch socket, the switch socket will not react to the switching commands on the
handheld radio transmitter!
For the settings of the radio-controlled switch socket please refer to its operating
instructions.

Operation

If you press the "ON" button of the corresponding switching channel (1, 2, 3 or 4), the respective
radio-controlled switch socket is activated. The red control LED on the radio-controlled switch
socket has to light up and the load connected to it will be switched on.
The radio-controlled switch socket and the load connected to it are switched off using the "OFF"
key of the corresponding switching channel.
Please consult the operating instructions for further information on the radio-controlled switch
socket.
Range
The transmission range of the radio signals, between the handheld transmitter and the
radio-controlled switch sockets, is up to 30 m under optimum conditions.
This value, however, is the so-called "open space range" (the range when transmitter
and receiver are visible to each other, without interfering influences).
In practice, however, there may be walls, room ceilings, etc. between the transmitter
and the receiver which reduce the range accordingly.
Due to the different influences on the wireless transmission, no specific range can
be guaranteed.
However, trouble-free operation is usually possible in a single family house.
Sometimes the range can be considerably reduced due to:
• Walls, reinforced concrete ceilings
• Coated/metallised insulated glass
• Proximity to metallic & conductive objects (e.g., heating elements)
• Proximity to human bodies
• Broadband interferences, e.g., in residential areas (DECT telephones, mobiles,
radio-controlled headphones, radio-controlled speakers, other radio-controlled weather
stations, baby phones, etc.)
• Proximity to electric motors, transformers, power-supply units, computers
• Proximity to badly shielded or uncovered computers in use or other electrical appliances
Care and Cleaning
• The product is maintenance free for you; never open/dismantle it (except for inserting/replacing
the battery as described in these operating instructions).
• Only clean the product with a soft, clean, dry cloth. Never use aggressive cleaning agents or
chemical solutions since these could damage the surface of the casing or impair operation.
