The V-Vac Suction Unit is a manual portable unit designed to provide quick and effective suction. Fully
assembled, it weighs less than one pound (0,45 kg) and can be adjusted to accomodate different hand sizes or
to provide a range of suction pressures from no more than ~170mmHg up to ~380mmHg.
1. CAUTIONS/WARNINGS
• Read these Directions for Use carefully and
become familiar with the operation and
maintenance before you use the unit.
• Training should take place before the device is
used on a patient.
• The use of suction devices may require
appropriate infection disease precautions be taken
during use, cleaning of the device and disposal of
the cartridges.
• Federal law (USA) restricts this device to sale by
or on the order of a physician.
• Do not block exhaust outlet during use.
• Replacement cartridges are not intended for
reuse.
• Keep cartridge compressed until installed in
handle. Remove retaining strap just prior to
installation
The intake valve (cartridge tip) was designed to
prevent the backward flow of suctioned matter back
through the tip when cartridge tip is pointed
downward.

3. CARTRIDGE INSTALLATION
1. Hold the handle as shown in your left hand.
Holding the cartridge at a right angle, insert the
oval-shaped hole firmly into the fitting on the handle
(see inset).
2. Keeping the cartridge in the fitting, pivot it towards
the handle and then snap it into place with your
thumbs. The intake valve is protected by a plastic cap.
Be sure to remove this protective cap before using
the unit (see inset).
4. STROKE ADJUSTMENT
To adjust the stroke of the handle (and thereby
adjust the suction pressure that can be generated),
squeeze the handle and flip the stroke stop over
(see inset). The front position provides maximum
suction pressure of ~380mmHg. The rear position
offers a lower suction pressure with a maximum of
~170mmHg. To secure the stroke stop, push down
until it snaps into place.
