2 General description of how the unit operates
In automatic mode, the Diemasol Ci regulator operates in accordance with
the following principles:
The sun's rays heat the transfer fluid in the collector. For the regulation
process to be triggered, a minimum temperature of 30 °C is required in the
collector and there must be a temperature difference of 10 K by comparison
with the tank.
During the self-calibration phase that follows (adjustment parameter tu,
factory setting: 3 minutes), the solar pump (relay 1) operates at full speed
(100 %).

The regulator has a safety system that cuts off the tank at
temperatures of over 80 °C.

After that, dynamic speed control (primary/secondary circuit pump) is
triggered by a temperature setting difference (Adjustment parameter SX,
factory setting: 60 °C). The secondary pump switches on for a period of
2 minutes.
From that moment, measuring the temperature and running the program is
no longer done by the FK sensor located in the solar power logger, but is
done by the TE sensor located on the exchanger output. Calculations and
measurements are more accurate because the TE sensor measure the hot
water temperature produced behind the exchanger.
When the tank zone changeover temperature is reached (adjustment
parameter SZ, factory setting: 55 °C), relay 3 switches the changeover valve
to the upper zone of the tank so that the user can have domestic hot water
at a suitable temperature.
Depending on the heat available, the tank heats up and cuts off when the
maximum storage temperature is reached (adjustment parameter SX, factory
setting: 60 °C).
When the collector reaches its maximum temperature (adjustment parameter
CX, factory setting: 120 °C), the solar pump responsible for cooling the
system switches on and operates until the temperature is 5 K less than
parameter CX or until the maximum storage temperature (80 °C) is
exceeded. If the collector temperature is lower than the tank temperature, the
excess energy is dissipated by the pipes and the collector until the tank is
once again below its maximum temperature.
The amount of heat transferred from the collector to the tank under normal
conditions is displayed as parameter AH. The value is continually updated.
