Melody Louise Caddick, works as a LEGO
in the company's head offi ce in Billund, Denmark.
She was given the task of transforming the
Melody Louise Caddick
original Hayabusa model from Daisuke into one
that matched the quality and building experience
of a traditional LEGO construction set. It was an
enjoyable project, but also a challenging one:
"LEGO® CUUSOO is always exciting and fun to work
with. However, trying to recreate a real-life object
such as the Hayabusa Space Craft in LEGO bricks
can also be diffi cult. For example, with the elements
we have available, it was not possible to make the
solar panels fold together and then fold down at
the sides. We also needed to ensure stability so
that when you build and display the model, it will
maintain its shape as much as possible. I'm very
happy with the way the fi nal model has turned out".
