INFORMATION FOR THE REHAU UNIVERSAL PIPE RAUTITAN FLEX MADE FROM
RAU-PE-Xa WITH EVAL BARRIER ACCORDING TO DIN 4726
Delivery:
REHAU universal pipes RAUTITAN flex made from RAU-PE-Xa with EVAL
barrier coating are supplied in coiled form and as cut lengths.
Transport:
REHAU universal pipes RAUTITAN flex and all system components are to be
loaded and unloaded under qualified supervision and to be transported and
stored in line with the material. Unprotected pipes should not be dragged on
the ground or across concrete floors. The pipes are packaged in boxes or foil
and should be left in these boxes and foil until installation.
Storage:
This packaging protects the pipes from mechanical as well as UV radiation
damage. Oil, grease and dyes etc should be kept away from the pipes.
Areas of application:
- Drinking water installation:
The REHAU universal pipe RAUTITAN flex is suitable for the cold and
hot water installation within buildings to DIN 1988 and can be used for
transporting drinking water to DIN 2000. RAUTITAN flex pipes meet the
requirements of DIN EN ISO 15875 class 2/10 bar and can be operated
continuously at 70 °C and for a short time at 100 °C (fault temperature) up
to an operating pressure of 10 bar (Technical Information 850624).
- Heating installation:
The REHAU universal pipe RAUTITAN flex can be used in the radiator
connection system (DIN EN ISO 15875 class 5/8 bar) as well as for the
pipe underfloor heating/ cooling system (DIN EN ISO 15875 class 4/10 bar)
(Technical Information 864611 + 864612) .
The safety equipment of the heat source has to comply with DIN EN 12828.
Oxygen impermeability, chemical dosing:
The REHAU universal pipe RAUTITAN flex made from PE-Xa with an EVAL
barrier coating (ethylene vinyl alcohol) is oxygen-tight to DIN 4726 (DIN Certco
registration no. 3V257 PE-Xa or 3V275 PE-Xa).

Chemical dosing is therefore not required when laying the REHAU universal
pipe RAUTITAN flex. However, if inhibitors, anti-freeze agents or other potable
water or chemical dosing additives are used, a relevant manufacturer approval
is required.
Laying, bending and pipe joints:
When laying REHAU universal pipes RAUTITAN flex it is to be ensured that no
mechanical/chemical interference affects the pipe (e.g. sharp edged surface,
UV radiation, chemicals, external moisture).
If the REHAU universal pipe RAUTITAN flex undergoes
without
fittings, the smallest permissible bending radius of 8xd is to be
adhered to for heating and sanitary installations.
