LIMITED WARRANTY Dakota Computer Solutions warrants the Scout KVM Switch™ to be in good working order for one year from the date of purchase from Dakota Computer Solutions or an authorised dealer. Should this product fail to be in good working order at any time during this one year warranty period, Dakota Computer Solutions will, at its option, repair or replace the Unit as set forth below. -

INSTALLATION Locating the Scout unit The Scout unit is best located as close to the CPUs as possible. This will reduce the length of the CPU cables and provide a more cost-effective and neater installation. While usage of the Scout is trouble-free and transparent and need not be in an accessible location, you may wish to access the front panel to verify the currently selected port or to switch to the next port. -

Basic Operations PCs may be powered-up one-at-a-time or all at once. The green LEDs over each channel will light, indicating that the attached computer is powered on. After power-up, a lit amber LED indicates the selected computer. Other PCs may now be selected for operation. - Seite 10 INSTALLATION Standort des Scout_________________________________________________ Die Scout-Einheit sollte so nahe wie möglich am Rechner plaziert werden. Dies würde die Länge der CPU-Kabel verringern und eine kostenminimierte und elegante Installation ergeben. Solange der Scout störungsfrei arbeitet und nicht in Zugriffreichweite stehen muss, kann per Tastatur umgeschaltet werden.

Grundlagen Die Rechner sollten einzeln oder alle zusammen hochgefahren werden. Dies wird durch die grünen LED-Lämpchen angezeigt. Nach dem Hochfahren markiert eine kleine gelbes LED- Lämpchen den aktuell ausgewählten Rechner. Andere PCs können nun ausgewählt werden. Auswahl eines PCs Es gibt zwei Arten, einen PC auszuwählen. Der eine ist über die Auswahl-Tasten. Dies wählt den nächsten in der Reihe der Rechner aus. - Seite 12 I AS rA I U RKO.M M A \ DOS Voraussetzung ist das Betätigen der linken <STRG>-Taste. Dann folgt das gewünschte Tastaturkommando mit entsprechenden Parametern. Es wird nicht zwischen Groß- und Kleinschreibung unterschieden. Benutzen Sie für die Eingabe von Ziffern bitte nicht den Ziffemblock auf der rechten Seite Ihrer Tastatur, sondern stets die obere Ziffemreihe.
