Application information
Please read this documentation through carefully and familiarise yourself with the operation
of the product before putting it to use. Keep this document to hand so that you can refer
to it when necessary. Please refer to the Instruction manual on the analyser.
Rechargeable battery
Safety information
Your Testo analyser is fitted with a small, high-capacity lithium ion rechargeable battery. Inexpert
handling of the rechargeable battery can lead to damage or injuries caused by current surge, fire or
the leaking of chemical substances. It is imperative that you adhere to the following instructions to
avoid the risks listed above:
· The analyser should only be used as instructed in the Instruction manual.
· Do not short-circuit, take apart or modify in any way.
· Do not subject to impact, water, fire or temperatures above 60°C.
· Do not store near metallic objects.
· Do not use leaking or damaged rechargeable batteries. If you come into contact with liquid from
the rechargeable battery, rinse affected areas thoroughly with water and consult a doctor, if
necessary.
· Recharge only in analyser or in the recommended charging station.
· Cancel recharging if it is not complete in the time specified.
· If there are signs of malfunctioning or overheating, please remove the rechargeable battery
immediately from the analyser/charging station. Please note: Rechargeable battery may be hot.
Proper disposal
· Please dispose of defective rechargeable batteries appropriately.
Rechargeable battery maintenance
· Fully recharge the new rechargeable battery prior to initial operation.
· If possible, always discharge battery fully and then recharge.
· Rechargeable battery power decreases at low temperatures thus decreasing its service life.
· Do not store the discharged rechargeable battery for long periods of time. (Best storage conditions
at charge of 50-80%, ambient temperature of 10-20°C, recharge completely prior to use).
· The service life of the rechargeable battery depends on storage, operating and ambient conditions.
The service life of the rechargeable battery is reduced if used frequently. If the rechargeable
battery's life has decreased considerably, it is should be changed.
Rechargeable battery capacity display in the analyser
· Correct display of the rechargeable battery capacity is only guaranteed if the rechargeable battery
is fully discharged and then fully recharged again. However, there may be inaccuracies in the
capacity display if one or more of the following conditions apply:
- Use or storage of the rechargeable battery at very high or very low temperatures.

- If rechargeable battery is used very frequently or very seldom.

- Use of a rechargeable battery recharged in the charging station.
· In order to restore the correct rechargeable battery capacity display, fully discharge the
rechargeable battery (until the analyser switches off completely) and then recharge fully.

Safety information
· Please observe safety information on the Testo rechargeable battery, see above.
· Only use charging station for the Testo rechargeable battery.
· Observe final values of charging station.
Recharging the battery
1 Connect charging station to a mains socket.
2 Insert the rechargeable battery in the charging station.
3 Close the rechargeable battery locking device: press the button and push in the opposite
direction of the arrow until the rechargeable battery clicks into place.
- Recharging is started. The status of the charging station is shown by the LED.
4 Remove rechargeable battery: Press button and push in the direction of the arrow.
Do not store charged batteries in the charging station. Always remove them when charged!
