Application
Display call module as an input unit
with a 4line display for placing door
calls. The call controller RC 602... is
only required when the 1+n technik
is used.
Customerspecific data stored in
the DRM 611... is indicated on the
display. To scroll through the name
index, there are two arrow keys pro-
vided for "up/down".
If the required name is highlighted
in the name list, this user will be
called when pressing the bell symbol
button.
An external DR button can be con-
nected.
The DRM 611... can also be used in
combination with the COM 611...
in order to display the input via the
DRM 611...

Electrical voltage
Mounting, installation and servicing
work on electrical devices may only
be performed by a suitably qualified
electrician.
• In order to comply with the gen-
eral safety regulations for telecom-
munication systems in accordance
with VDE 0100 and VDE 0800, and
to prevent electrical interference,
ensure separate routing of heavy
and light current conductors. A dis-
tance of 10 cm must be adhered to.

• In order to place door calls in the
1+n system, a call controller
RC 602... and where applicable sev-
eral call controller extensions
RCE 602... are required.
• In the Siedle InHome system, the
call controller is required if data has
to be loaded via the call controller
card.
• In the Siedle InHome system, the
BIM 650... is required.
• In the Multi system, ensure that
the software used in the TLC 640...
is version 71.08 or later.
Pilfer safeguard
In order to protect the Vario modules
from unauthorized access, the pilfer
safeguard controller DSC 602... can
be optionally used in conjunction
with the ZDS 601... This can be
used to protect the inserted modules
from unauthorized access.
Range
The conductor network laid for
the whole of the Variobus may not
exceed a length of 2000 m.
The loop resistance (forward and
return line between the DRM 611...
and the RC 602...) must not exceed
20 Ohm. With a core diameter of
0.8 mm, this results in a range of
appr. 250 metres. The power supply
to the Variobus components is pro-
vided via a separate transformer
TR 602...
Steps must be taken to ensure that
the supply voltage never falls below
9 V/AC at any time at maximum cur-
rent input to each device.
Certain ranges between the door
loudspeaker and line rectifier /
between the door loudspeaker
and in-house telephone must
be observed in conjunction with
Siedle door intercom systems. For
more details, refer to the Door and
Inhouse Telephony Planning and
Installation Guidelines.

Mounting
1 Address setting
• Open the flap on the back of the
module with the aid of a screw
driver.
• Set the address (1 to 8) at the
rotary switch.
• After setting the address, close
the flap. The module is ready for
installation.
An address may only be assigned
once to any connected DRM 611...
unit in the system.
2 Plug in the ribbon cable with com
bination terminal
3 Insert the DRM 611... in the
mounting frame
4 a Terminal diagram at the 1+n
system. The default numbers are set
from 1 to 504 and correspond to
the physical assignment at the RC/
RCE 602... 7.1, 7.2 etc.
