Read this manual attentively before starting up the unit. Do
not throw it away. Keep it in your files for future reference.
Improper installation or attachment of equipment or
accessories could result in electric shock, short-circuit,
leaks, fire or other damage to the equipment. Be sure only
to use accessories made by Daikin which are specifically
designed for the use with the equipment and have them
installed by a professional.
If unsure of installation procedures or use, always contact
your Daikin dealer for advice and information.
The manual fresh air intake louvre is supplied to end-users who need
an external source of air.
The kit regulates the flow of fresh air, filtered and heated by the electric
heater, by manually adjusting the internal deflector.

EScripTiON Of ThE EquipmENT
The EFA kit shown in figure 1 consists of:
1 External air-intake louvre
2 Self-tapping screws 4.2 x 13 mm
The option EFA can only be combined with FWV units.
If the louvre is installed on a FWV unit, a pair of covering feet must be
mounted on the frame of the louvre in combinations according to the
table as shown if figure 2.
Refer to the installation manual of the covering feet.

Q In case a grille is installed combined with the

covering feet, the grille needs to be removed
(4 screws) for changing the angle of inclination of the
louvre.

NSTallaTiON
Proceed as follows to install the louvre:
1 Make sure that the required installation is as shown in one of the
set-ups in figure 3.
A Wall-mounted unit with rear air-intake louvre
B Wall-mounted unit with lower air-intake louvre
The external air intake louvre is always supplied with sleeve in the
rear air-inlet position.
2 Remove the sleeve of the louvre as shown in figure 4.
3 Make an opening in the wall with the dimensions shown in
figure 5.
The external air-intake louvre is used with the external
NOTE
air grille (EAIDF).
To avoid pressure drop of external air sucked, the
opening should be as shown in figure 6.
4 Fit the sleeve into the opening and secure as shown in figure 7,
depending on the type of installation chosen.

5 Re-assemble the air-intake louvre sleeve, remove the fan coil
cover, place the bearing structure onto the air intake louvre and
tighten the 4 screws (figure 8); fix the bearing structure to the wall
using 4 screw anchors.
To prevent the water from freezing inside the heat exchanger during
winter, close the outdoor air inlet louvre when the system is not
operational or use an anti-freeze solution for controlling its freezing
point:

Take the knob positioned on the louvre for changing the angle of the
louvre inclination manually.

The air filter should be removed for routine maintenance with the
air-intake louvre fully shut, to ease access.
