STANDPUNKT
Intended use
The loudspeakers STANDPUNKT are intended for converting
electric output signals from audio amplifiers into audible sound waves
and they are only approved for connection to the speaker outputs on
such devices.
Please use speakers only indoors; never outdoors. Do not expose to
moisture, for example in bathrooms or similar locations.
Any other use than the one described above may cause damage to
the loudspeakers and lead to other risks, such as short-circuits, fire,
etc.
No part of the product may be modified or rebuilt.
The safety instructions must be observed at all times.
Safety instructions
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to
observe these safety instructions. We do not assume liability for any
resulting damage.
We do not assume any liability for material and personal damage
caused by improper use or non-compliance with the safety
instructions. The warranty will be void in such cases.
An exclamation mark in a triangle indicates important
information in these operating instructions, which must be
followed.
Please read all the instructions before using this device, they include
important information on its correct operation.
For safety reasons, any unauthorised conversion
and/or modification to the loudspeakers is not
permitted.

The manufacturer's safety instructions for devices to which
the loudspeakers will be connected must also be observed.
Therefore please read carefully all other relevant operating
instructions also.

Do not keep any magnetic storage media such as computer
disks, video cassettes or similar near the loudspeakers as
the magnetic field of the loudspeakers may corrupt the
information stored on these media.
Ÿ
Do not listen to excessively loud music for long periods of
time. This may lead to hearing damage.
Ÿ
Do not expose the loudspeaker to high temperatures, drips
or water spray, strong vibrations or heavy mechanical
stress.
Ÿ
Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. It
may become a dangerous plaything for children.
Ÿ
Do not place the loudspeaker in the direct vicinity of screens
such as television sets or computer monitors. The magnetic
fields generated by the loudspeakers may distort the image
displaying.
Ÿ
When setting up the loudspeakers, make sure that they are
on a stable base and that you find a correspondingly stable
surface to place them on.
Assembly of floor plate
The included floor plate must be mounted to the cabinet of the
STANDPUNKT using the 4 included screws as shown in the drawing
on last page. Instead of the included one a floor plate made of granite
is available as accessory.
It is permitted to use the STANDPUNKT with moun-
ted floor plate only. Otherwise there is the risk that
the loudspeaker falls over during operation.
Anschluss
The STANDPUNKT is equipped with a Bi-Wiring terminal ma-
king it possible to connect the woofer-midrange systems separated from
the ribbon tweeter. Thereby an operation with two wires (Bi-Wiring) as
well as additionally with two amplifiers (Bi-Amping) is possible.
Operating with only one wire the woofer-midrange and ribbon tweeter
terminal will be connected by the included wire bridges (see last page).
Both wire bridges must be removed if operating in Bi-
Wiring mode, at least in Bi-Amping mode. If the wire
bridges were not removed in these operating modes,
the connected amplifiers can be damaged.
The integrated Xover is still in use in Bi-Wiring / Bi-Amping mode.
Therefore a use of an additionally electronic Xover or digital Xover (DSP)
is not advantageously. In fact the sound can be downgraded possibly.
When connecting the loudspeakers, make sure that
the connecting cables are not pinched or damaged.

The loudspeakers may only be connected to suitable
loudspeaker terminals on audio devices.

The impedance of the
the impedance indicated in the technical data complies with
the data for the amplifier connected. Otherwise the speakers
or the amplifier may be damaged.
Please check the wiring for any kind of trip hazard etc. to

prevent any kind of accidence or damage
The screw terminals are marked black (minus input) or red (plus input).
The plus input must be connected to the plus output of the amplifier, the
minus input must be connected to the minus output of the amplifier (see
last page). If one of the speakers is connected reverse the reproduction of
bass signals can be lowered.
Installation
The STANDPUNKT should be placed in a way, that both spea-
kers and listening place were close to the corner points of an equilateral
triangle, if possible.

The distance between speakers and any wall should be 50 cm or
more..
Ÿ
The shape of the listening room and its characteristics have strong
effect on the sound. Damping materials (sofa, curtains, carpets) have
a cushioning effect and decrease reverberation. Based on
experience a lowered or excessive, imprecise bass reproduction
depends very often on the position of the speakers in the listening
room. A modification of the speaker locations may lead to better
results.
Maintenance
Please clean the exterior of the loudspeaker with a soft, dry (moist but not
wet if necessary) cloth or brush only. Never use aggressive cleaning
agents or chemical solutions as these may damage the surface of the
housing.
Do not touch the sensitive speaker cone / diaphragm.
Disposal
Please dispose of the device when it is no longer of use, according
to the current statutory requirements.
