Your new Skagerak product is made of teak and melamine. Teak grows in
South-east Asia and is a heavy, hard and sturdy type of wood. Teak has a high
content of natural impregnating oils. For this reason, teak is an ideal raw mate-
rial for furniture and everyday household articles. The natural oils may rub off
on light surfaces/textiles. The surface of new teak products may vary in colour
and shading. These differences will soon even out with use and exposure to
sunlight.
Melamine is a hard type of plastic that is ideal for the storage of food. It does
not absorb odours and is easy to clean. Melamine products must not be used
in the microwave!
Maintenance
The teak is untreated. If you wish to enhance the natural colour of the wood,
treat it with oil such as Skagerak Køkkenbordsolie. The oil treatment should be
repeated at regular intervals as needed.
Melamine does not require any special maintenance.
Cleaning
Clean the wood section with a damp cloth. For stubborn stains use Skagerak
Natursæbe Natur, which both cleans the wood and adds a protective layer of
soap. Avoid fully immersing the item in water, and dry off any surface water
immediately. The wood section is not dishwasher proof.

Disposal
Dispose of the product at your local waste receiving station.
