Item-No. 75 15 47

Prescribed Use

The access and time recording system enables the access and the time recording via fingerprint,
ID and password, via magnetic card, magnetic card + password or magnetic card + fingerprint
(adjustable).
New users can be trained via fingerprint or via password. The magnetic card recording is based
on the RFID technology (125 kHz).
This product can be used as a stand-alone device. Furthermore, the product offers the possibil-
ity to be operated via TCP/IP. A 128x64 pixel display ensures an uncomplicated and user-friend-
ly reading of the status messages.
The provided system software offers a wide range of administration, adjustment and back-up
options. For this, please observe the enclosed English operating instructions (on CD-ROM).
The access and time recording system provided is only intended for use in dry indoor locations.
The power is supplied via the power supply unit (12 V/DC) included in the delivery.
Operating the product in any other way than described above is not permitted and may lead to
damaging to the product, which can give rise to risks such as short circuit, fire and electric shock.
The product must not be modified or converted. Always observe the safety instructions included
in these operating instructions. Please read the operating manual carefully and keep it for later
enquiries.
Symbols
A lightning-bolt symbol in a triangle indicates a health hazard, e.g. danger of elec-

The "Hand" symbol indicates special tips and operating information.

Safety instructions

The warranty will be void for damage arising from non-compliance with these
operating instructions. We do not assume any liability for any consequential

We do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by
improper use or non-compliance with the safety instructions. Your guarantee

Dear customer,
Not only are the following safety notes and hazard warnings intended to pro-
tect the device, they are also intended to protect your health. Please read
carefully through the following points:
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the access and time
recording system and of the power supply unit is not allowed because of
safety and approval reasons (CE). And it will void the warranty.
• The system components are no toys, they are not suited for children.
Children are not aware of the possible dangers when using electric devices.
Therefore, be especially careful when children are around.
• When the system components are taken from a cold to a warm room (e.g.
during transport), condensation may be produced. It could damage the
components. There is also the danger of a deadly electric shock! Wait until
the system components have reached room temperature before using
them. This may take several hours.
• Never position any containers containing liquids, such as buckets, vases or
plants, in the direct vicinity of the access and time recording system and the
power supply unit. Liquids may seep into the casing and thus impair the
electrical safety of the device. Furthermore, there is a significant risk of fire
or of a lethal electric shock!
• The access and time recording system as well as the power supply unit are
only intended for use in dry indoor locations.
• No devices with strong electric fields such as e.g. mobile phones, radio
devices, electric engines etc. must be in the proximity of the access and time
recording system.

Installation

The scope of delivery includes a mounting plate. The access and time recording system
is placed and fitted on the mounting plate. Thus, the mounting plate enables a stable wall
mounting.
• Do not leave packing materials unattended. They may become dangerous
playthings for children.
• Please contact a qualified person if you are unsure about the safety and
correct use of the system components.
• Be particularly cautious when using the access and time recording system
and the power supply unit in the presence of children. Keep electrical
devices out of the reach of children.
• If you have reason to assume that safe operation is no longer possible, dis-
connect the device immediately and secure it against inadvertent operation.
• In order to ensure a correct handling of the access and time recording sys-
tem always observe the English operating instructions contained in the CD-
ROM.
• It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
- the device is visibly damaged,
- the device no longer operates and
- the device was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long
period of time or
- the device was exposed to extraordinary stress caused by transport.
• Only a stabilized 12 V/DC power supply unit may be used to supply the pow-
er of the access and time recording system.
• Ensure that all the electric connections and connection cables between the
devices and any extension cables conform to the regulations and comply
with the operating instructions.
• Make sure that the connection cable is not being pinched or damaged by
sharp edges.
• Never replace damaged mains cables yourself. In such cases, disconnect
the appliance from the mains and take it to a specialist workshop.
• Capacitors in the device may still be charged, even if the device has been
disconnected from all power supplies.
• The power supply unit may never be plugged in or out with wet
hands.
• Never pull on the power cable; only unplug it at the power outlet.
• Disconnect the power supply from the power socket if the unit is not in use
for a long period of time.
• Always disconnect the power supply from the access and time recording
system before cleaning the product.

specialist or a specialised repair shop.
• In a business setting the regulations for the prevention of industrial acci-
dents as stipulated by the Employers' Liability Insurance Association for
Electrical Equipment have to be observed.
• At schools, educational centres, hobby and self-help workshops the oper-
ation of the product is to be supervised by trained employees.
For any unanswered questions please contact our customer service or other
specialists.
The access and time recording system as well as the power supply unit are
only intended for use in dry indoor locations.
All connection cables must neither be flexed nor squashed. This can result in
malfunctions, short circuits and defects in the device. No devices with strong
electric fields such as e.g. mobile phones, radio devices, electric engines etc.
must be in the proximity of the access and time recording system.
Furthermore, avoid direct heat sources near the place of installation.
Vibrations occuring at the assembly site may also lead to malfunctions.
Make sure that the power supply unit is disconnected from the access and
time recording system during assembly and connection.
