10. Troubleshooting

Settings menu/OSD cannot be called (button „MENU"); other buttons of the „Grand Video Console Plus II" or
the IR remote control also have no function
• If the VGA input is activated, the settings menu cannot be called! Some other functions are not possible either.
First switch to video or s-video input. Then try again.
No picture
• Check the cable connections.
• Is the mains adapter plugged into a functional mains socket and the device switched on (red LED on the top is lit)?
• Is the correct input selected?
• Is the connected device (e.g. gaming console) switched on?
• Is the connected signal correct (video or S-video signal)?
• Is the selected resolution too high (e.g. 1680 x 1050 for a TFT-screen with 1280 x 1024 pixels)? Try setting a lower
resolution in the OSD/setting menu.
• Is the refresh rate set in video/s-video mode too high (75 instead of 60 Hz)? Try setting the refresh rate to 60 Hz (press
the button „60HZ" on the IR remote control or change in the settings menu).
IR remote control does not work
• Point the IR remote control with the IR LED directly at the „Grand Video Console Plus II".
With the batter charged, the range is usually several meters.
• Replace the battery with a new one; observe correct polarity.
Poor image quality
• Use a better VGA cable or a shorter VGA cable between the screen and the „Grand Video Console Plus II" or between
the PC and the „Grand Video Console Plus II".
• Set a lower refresh rate (60 Hz instead of 75 Hz).
• Use a lower resolution (e.g. 1024 x 768 instead of 1280 x 1024).
• The analogue signal conversion of a video/s-video signal (half-image method, PAL) into a VGA-signal (full-screen
display), the different refresh rate (video/s-video = 50 Hz, interlaced or VGA = 60 or 75 Hz) and the required scaling
generally reduces image quality.
Try achieving an improvement with the functions in the OSD/settings menu (e.g. „SHARPNESS"). Switch the display
mode with the button „Sport" and „Static".
