Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Am dem Produkt stehen zwei USB-Ports für den Anschluss von einer USB-Festplatte und
einem USB-Drucker zur Verfügung (alternativ 2 USB-Drucker).
Diese angeschlossenen Geräte (USB-Festplatte bzw. USB-Drucker) können danach über
Netzwerk (10/100MBit) betrieben werden.
Das Produkt entspricht den nationalen und europäischen Richtlinien. Alle enthaltenen Firmen-
namen und Produktbezeichnungen sind Warenzeichen der jeweiligen Inhaber. Alle Rechte
vorbehalten.

oder Nichtbeachten der Sicherheitshinweise verursacht werden, überneh-
men wir keine Haftung! In solchen Fällen erlischt jeder Garantieanspruch.
Aus Sicherheits- und Zulassungsgründen (CE) ist das eigenmächtige Umbauen
und/oder Verändern des Produkts nicht gestattet. Zerlegen Sie das Produkt
niemals.
Das Produkt ist kein Spielzeug, es gehört nicht in Kinderhände. Kinder können
die Gefahren, die im Umgang mit elektrischen Geräten bestehen, nicht einschät-
zen. Betreiben Sie das Produkt so, dass es nicht von Kindern erreicht werden
kann.
Das Produkt darf nicht feucht oder nass werden. Es ist nur für den Einsatz in
trockenen Innenräumen vorgesehen. Es besteht Lebensgefahr durch einen
elektrischen Schlag!
Fassen Sie das Steckernetzteil niemals mit feuchten oder nassen Händen an,
Lebensgefahr durch elektrischen Schlag!
Der Aufbau des Steckernetzteils entspricht der Schutzklasse II.
Lassen Sie das Verpackungsmaterial nicht achtlos liegen, dieses könnte für
Kinder zu einem gefährlichen Spielzeug werden.
Gehen Sie vorsichtig mit dem Produkt um, durch Stöße, Schläge oder dem Fall
aus bereits geringer Höhe wird es beschädigt.
Installation & Anschluss
Falls vorhanden, überlassen Sie Anschluss und Installation des Produkts Ihrem Netzwerk-
Administrator.
• Überprüfen Sie die Funktion des Druckers, bevor Sie diesen an die USB-Station anschlie-
ßen.
• Verbinden Sie den USB-Drucker mit einem der beiden USB-Ports der USB-Station.
• Verbinden Sie eine USB-Festplatte mit dem anderen der beiden USB-Ports der USB-
Station.

Es kann maximal eine USB-Festplatte mit der USB-Station betrieben werden.
Zum Betrieb der USB-Festplatte an der USB-Station muss diese mit dem
Dateisystem „FAT32" formatiert sein. Das Dateisystem „NTFS" kann nicht
verwendet werden.
Die USB-Station bietet später eine eigene Option zum Formatieren der ange-
schlossenen USB-Festplatte an (Dateisystem „FAT32" bzw. „EXT3"). Dabei
gehen jedoch alle Daten auf der USB-Festplatte verloren.
Sichern Sie in diesem Fall zuerst alle Daten auf der USB-Festplatte, bevor Sie
diese an die USB-Station anschließen.

Windows XP ist ohne zusätzliche Software nicht in der Lage, eine Festplatte bzw.
Partition größer als 32GByte mit dem Dateisystem „FAT32" zu formatieren.
Der Betrieb einer solchen Festplatte/Partition ist dagegen problemlos möglich.
• Verbinden Sie die RJ45-Buchse der USB-Station über ein 1:1 verbundenes Netzwerkkabel
mit Ihrem Netzwerkswitch (kein sog. „Cross-Link"-Kabel verwenden).
• Verbinden Sie das Steckernetzteil mit der Niederspannungsbuchse der USB-Station.
• Stecken Sie nun das Steckernetzteil in eine Netzsteckdose (230V~/50Hz).
• Schalten Sie den Drucker und die USB-Festplatte ein.
Installation
Legen Sie die CD in das entsprechende Laufwerk Ihres Computers ein. Falls die Installations-
routine nicht automatisch startet, so starten Sie auf der CD im Hauptverzeichnis das Programm
„Autorunmenu.exe". Klicken Sie auf „USB Station Assistent" und folgen Sie allen Anweisun-
gen.
Für weitere Informationen zu Installation und Betrieb beachten Sie bitte die im Verzeichnis
„Document" auf der CD befindliche Bedienungsanleitung des Herstellers. Sie liegt in verschie-
denen Sprachen vor.
Handhabung
Der Betrieb ist nur in trockenen Innenräumen zulässig. Das Produkt darf nicht
feucht oder nass werden. Gefahr durch einen elektrischen Schlag!
Verwenden Sie das Produkt niemals gleich dann, wenn es von einem kalten in
einen warmen Raum gebracht wird. Das dabei entstehende Kondenswasser
kann unter Umständen das Produkt zerstören. Außerdem besteht die Gefahr
eines elektrischen Schlags! Lebensgefahr!
Lassen Sie das Produkt zuerst auf Zimmertemperatur kommen, bevor es
verwendet wird. Dies kann u.U. mehrere Stunden dauern.
Vermeiden Sie folgende widrige Umgebungsbedingungen am Aufstellungsort oder beim
Transport:
- Nässe oder zu hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit
- Extreme Kälte oder Hitze, direkte Sonneneinstrahlung
- Staub oder brennbare Gase, Dämpfe oder Lösungsmittel
- starke Vibrationen, Stöße, Schläge
- starke Magnetfelder, wie in der Nähe von Maschinen oder Lautsprechern
Eine Wartung oder Reparatur darf nur duch eine Fachwerkstatt durchgeführt werden.
Achten Sie beim Aufstellen des Produkts darauf, dass die Kabel nicht geknickt oder gequetscht
werden.
Reinigung
Zur Reinigung des Produkts genügt ein trockenes, weiches und fusselfreies Tuch.
Entsorgung

Elektrische und elektronische Produkte dürfen nicht in den Hausmüll!
Entsorgen Sie das Produkt am Ende seiner Lebensdauer gemäß den geltenden
gesetzlichen Bestimmungen.
Tipps und Hinweise
• Soll die USB-Festplatte von der USB-Station getrennt werden, so muss vorher die Taste
„Disconnect USB Disk" betätigt werden. Andernfalls kann es zu Datenverlust kommen.
• Es kann nur eine USB-Festplatte an der USB-Station betrieben werden.

Prescribed use
The product is equipped with two USB ports for the connection of a USB hard disk and a USB
printer (alternatively 2 USB printers).
The connected devices (USB hard disk or USB printer) can be operated afterwards via network
(10/100Mbit).
The product corresponds to the valid national and European guidelines. All company names

Safety Instructions
In case of any damages which are caused due to failure to observe these
operating instructions the guarantee will expire! We neither assume liabil-
ity for consequential damages!
Nor do we assume liability for damage to property or personal injury,
caused by improper use or the failure to observe the safety instructions!
The guarantee will expire in any such case!
The unauthorized conversion and/or modification of the product is inadmissible
because of safety and approval reasons (CE). Never disassemble the product.
The product is not a toy and should be kept out of reach of children! Children
cannot assess the dangers involved when dealing with electric devices. Operate
the product in a way that it is out of reach of children.
The product must not get damp or wet. It is only meant to be used in dry indoor
environments. There is the risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
Never touch the plug-in power supply when your hands are damp or wet. Danger
of a life-threatening electric shock!
The design of the mains plug complies with the safety class II.
Do not leave packaging material unattended. It might become a dangerous toy
for children!
Handle the product carefully and do not drop it, knocks, blows or even a fall from
a low height can damage it.
Installation & connection
If a network administrator exists, let him/her carry out the connection and installation.
• Check the function of the printer before connecting the latter to the USB station.
• Connect the USB printer with one of the two USB ports of the USB station.
• Connect the USB hard disk with the other free USB port of the USB station.

Only one USB hard disk can be operated with the USB station.
To use the USB hard disk at the USB station, the hard disk must be formatted with
the file system "FAT32". The file system "NTFS" cannot be used.
The USB station offers later its own option for formatting the connected USB hard
disk (file system "FAT32" or "EXT3"). However, all data on the USB hard disk will
get lost.
In this case, save all data stored on the USB hard disk before connecting the latter
to the USB station.

Windows XP, without additional software, cannot format a hard disk or a partition

bigger than 32Gbyte with the file system "FAT32".
The use of such a hard disk/partition is in contrast possible without problem.

 • Connect the RJ45 socket of the USB station via a network cable that is connected 1:1 with
your network switch (do not use a so called "cross-link" cable).
• Connect the plug-in power supply with the low-voltage socket of the USB station.
• Plug the mains unit into a mains socket (230V~/50Hz).
• Switch on the printer and the USB hard disk.
Installation
Place the CD in the corresponding drive of your computer. If the installation routine doesn't start
automatically, start the program "Autorunmenu exe" on the CD in the main directory. Click onto
"USB station Assistant" and follow all instructions.
For further information specific to the installation and to operation, take note of the operating
manual of the manufacturer which is located in the file "Document" on the CD included in the
delivery. It is available in different languages. To view the file, you need "Acrobat Reader" which
you can download free of charge at www.adobe.com
Handling
The product is only to be used in dry indoor locations. The product must not get
damp or wet. Risk of an electric shock!
Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold room into
a warm one. Condensation water that forms might destroy the product. There is
danger of a life-threatening electric shock! Danger!
Leave the product switched off and wait until it has reached room temperature,
before using it. This can sometimes take several hours.
The following unfavorable conditions are to be avoided at the place of installation or during
transport:
- wetness or too high air humidity
- extreme coldness or heat, direct sunlight
- dust or flammable gases, fumes or solvents
- strong vibrations, shocks, impacts
- strong magnetic fields such as near machines or loudspeakers
Any maintenance or repair work may be performed by authorized personnel only.
When installing the device, make sure the cables are not bent or jammed.
Cleaning
It is sufficient to use a dry, soft and lint-free cloth to clean the product.
Disposal

Electric and electronic products must not be disposed of in the domestic waste.
At the end of its serviceable life, dispose of the product according to the relevant
statutory requirements.
Tips and Notes
• If the USB hard disk must be disconnected from the USB station, then the key "Disconnect
USB disk" must be actuated beforehand. Otherwise this may lead to a loss of data.
• Only one USB hard disk can be operated at the USB station.
