Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Die EQUUS Quartz-Uhr LED 4-farbig dient zur Anzeige der Uhrzeit im Kfz-Innenbereich.
Dieses Einbauinstrument ist nur für den Anschluss an ein 12V-Gleichspannungsbordnetz mit negativem Pol
der Batterie an Karosserie zugelassen und darf nur in Fahrzeugen mit dieser Bordspannungsart eingebaut
und in Betrieb genommen werden. Schließen Sie das Produkt nie an eine andere Versorgungsspannung an.
Eine Verwendung ist nur im Kfz-Innenraum, also nicht im Freien erlaubt. Der Kontakt mit Feuchtigkeit oder
Nässe ist unbedingt zu vermeiden. Durch die Art des Einbaus ist vom Benutzer sicherzustellen, dass das
Einbauinstrument vor Feuchtigkeit und Nässe geschützt wird.
Eine andere Verwendung als zuvor beschrieben führt zur Beschädigung dieses Produktes, darüber hinaus
ist dies mit Gefahren, wie z.B. Kurzschluss, Brand, elektrischer Schlag etc. verbunden.
Das gesamte Produkt darf nicht geändert bzw. umgebaut werden.
Die Sicherheitshinweise sind unbedingt zu befolgen.

Bei Schäden, die durch Nichtbeachten dieser Bedienungsanleitung verursacht werden
erlischt der Garantieanspruch. Für Folgeschäden übernehmen wir keine Haftung.
Bei Sach- oder Personenschäden, die durch unsachgemäße Handhabung oder Nicht-
beachten der Sicherheitshinweise verursacht werden übernehmen wir keine Haftung.
In solchen Fällen erlischt jeder Garantieanspruch.

Bedienungsanleitung hin. Lesen Sie bitte vor Inbetriebnahme die komplette Anleitung
durch, sie enthält wichtige Hinweise zum korrekten Betrieb.
• Prüfen Sie das Produkt vor der Inbetriebnahme auf Beschädigungen. Sollte ein Schaden vorliegen, darf
es nicht in Betrieb genommen werden.
• Aus Sicherheits- und Zulassungsgründen ist das eigenmächtige Umbauen und/oder Verändern des
Produktes nicht gestattet.
• Als Spannungsquelle darf nur das 12V-Gleichspannungsbordnetz (negativer Pol der Batterie an der
Karosserie des Fahrzeugs) verwendet werden. Schließen Sie das Einbauinstrument nie an eine andere
Spannungsversorgung an.
• Achten Sie auf eine sachgerechte Inbetriebnahme. Beachten Sie hierbei diese Bedienungsanleitung.
• Wenden Sie sich an eine Fachkraft, wenn Sie Zweifel über die Arbeitsweise, die Sicherheit oder den
Anschluss des Gerätes haben.
• Überprüfen Sie das Einbauinstrument und die Anschlussleitungen von Zeit zu Zeit auf Beschädigungen.
Sollte das Instrument oder eine Anschlussleitung beschädigt sein, ist es von einer Fachkraft fachgerecht
instand zu setzen.
• Vermeiden Sie eine starke mechanische Beanspruchung des Produkts und setzen Sie es keinen hohen
Temperaturen, starken Vibrationen, Tropf- oder Spritzwasser aus.
• Gießen Sie nie Flüssigkeiten über dem Einbauinstrument aus. Es besteht höchste Gefahr eines Brandes
oder lebensgefährlichen elektrischen Schlages. Sollte dennoch Flüssigkeit ins Geräteinnere gelangt sein,
trennen Sie das Gerät sofort vom Stromversorgungsnetz und wenden Sie sich an eine Fachkraft.
• Das Einbauinstrument gehört nicht in Kinderhände. Halten Sie Kinder von ihm fern.
• Lassen Sie das Verpackungsmaterial nicht achtlos liegen. Es könnte für Kinder zu einem gefährlichen
Spielzeug werden.
• Sollten Sie sich über den korrekten Anschluss nicht im Klaren sein oder sollten sich Fragen ergeben, die
nicht im Laufe der Bedienungsanleitung abgeklärt werden, so setzen Sie sich bitte mit unserer technischen
Auskunft oder einem anderen Fachmann in Verbindung.
• Beachten Sie bitte auch die zusätzlichen Sicherheitshinweise in den einzelnen Kapiteln dieser Anleitung.
Montage
Die allgemeingültigen Sicherheitsvorschriften und Maßregeln bei Montagearbeiten in,
um und unter dem Fahrzeug sind unbedingt einzuhalten. Beachten Sie außerdem die
Sicherheitsvorschriften des Fahrzeugherstellers.
Änderungen am Fahrzeug, die durch den Einbau des Produkts nötig sind, müssen
immer so ausgeführt werden, dass dadurch keine Beeinträchtigung der Verkehrssi-
cherheit oder der konstruktiven Stabilität des Kfz entstehen. Sollten Zweifel über die
Auswahl des Einbauplatzes bestehen, informieren Sie sich bitte bei Ihrem Kfz-Händler.
Vergewissern Sie sich vor der Ausführung von Befestigungsbohrungen, dass hier-
durch keine elektrischen Kabel, Bremsleitungen o.ä. beschädigt werden.
Beachten Sie bei der Verwendung von Werkzeugen zum Einbau die Sicherheitshin-
weise der Werkzeughersteller.
Berücksichtigen Sie beim Einbau Produkts die Unfallgefahr, die von losgerissenen
Geräten im Falle eines Unfalls ausgehen kann. Befestigen Sie das Einbauinstrument
deshalb sicher und an einem Platz an dem es nicht zu einer Gefahr für die Insassen
werden kann.
Das Einbauinstrument kann mit dem beiliegenden Montagewinkel am Armaturenbrett befestigt oder in eine
entsprechende Öffnung in Armaturenbrett eingebaut werden.
Im Handel sind zusätzlich entsprechende Auf- und Einbaugehäuse mit einer genormten Öffnung für
Einbauinstrumente erhältlich (z.T. sogar fahrzeugspezifisch), in die das Instrument ebenfalls montiert werden
kann.
• Wählen Sie einen geeigneten Montageplatz aus. Der Einbauort muss vom Fahrerplatz aus gut sichtbar
sein.
• Berücksichtigen Sie bei der Wahl des Einbauortes die Einbautiefe, die das Instrument benötigt. Halten Sie
insbesondere zu bewegten Fahrzeugteilen (Gestänge, Hebel etc.) einen ausreichenden Sicherheitsab-
stand ein.
• Drehen Sie den Befestigungsring von Einbauinstrument ab und ziehen Sie es aus dem Montagewinkel.
• Befestigen Sie ggf. den Montagewinkel mit 2 geeigneten Schrauben am Armaturenbrett.
• Stecken Sie das Einbauinstrument in die Montageöffnung und befestigen Sie es, indem Sie den
Befestigungsring wieder aufschrauben und handfest anziehen.

Anschluss
Der elektrische Anschluss sollte nur von einer Fachkraft durchgeführt werden.
Um Kurzschlüsse und daraus resultierende Beschädigungen des Gerätes zu vermei-
den, muss während des Anschlusses der Minuspol (Masse) der Bordbatterie abge-
klemmt werden.
Schließen Sie den Minuspol der Batterie erst wieder an, wenn Sie das Einbau-
instrument vollständig angeschlossen und den Anschluss überprüft haben.
Benutzen Sie zum Überprüfen der Spannung an Bordspannungsleitungen nur ein
Voltmeter oder eine Diodenprüflampe, da normale Prüflampen zu hohe Ströme aufneh-
men und so die Bordelektronik beschädigen können.
Achten Sie bei der Verlegung von Leitungen darauf, dass diese nicht gequetscht
werden oder an scharfen Kanten scheuern. Benutzen Sie bei Durchführungspunkten
Gummitüllen.
Verwenden Sie zum Anschluss ausschließlich geeignete Kfz-Leitungen. Litze,
Klingeldrahtleitungen etc. sind nicht für die Verlegung in Fahrzeugen geeignet.
Zum Anschluss der Leitungen dürfen ebenfalls nur Kfz-taugliche Steckverbinder
verwendet werden, die mit geeignetem Werkzeug an die Leitungen angebracht werden
müssen.
Verlegen Sie die Anschlussleitungen möglichst entlang des Hauptkabelbaums im
Fahrzeug und vermeiden Sie lose Kabelschlaufen, die sich z.B. in der Pedalerie des
Fahrzeugs verfangen können. Hierdurch können lebensgefährliche Situationen im
Fahrbetrieb entstehen.
Zum Anschluss des Einbauinstruments werden folgende Leitungen aus dem Bordspannungsnetz Ihres
Fahrzeugs benötigt:
• 12V-Dauerspannung zur unterbrechungsfreien Stromversorgung der Uhr (Klemme 30).
• Masse für die Stromversorgung und die Beleuchtung des Instruments (Klemme 31).
• 12V-Stromversorgung für die Instrumentenbeleuchtung (Klemme 58).
Suchen Sie die entsprechenden Anschlusskontakte in Ihrem Fahrzeug. Ziehen Sie bei Unklarheiten
unbedingt einen Fachmann hinzu.
Die Kontakte bzw. Leitungen, an die das Einbauinstrument angeschlossen wird, müssen unbedingt über eine
entsprechende Sicherung abgesichert sein.
• Klemmen Sie den Minuspol der Bordbatterie ab.
• Verbinden Sie den mit (-) gekennzeichneten Anschluss am Einbauinstrument mit der Fahrzeugmasse
oder einer Masseleitung (Klemme 31).
• Verbinden Sie den mit (+) gekennzeichneten Anschluss am Einbauinstrument mit 12V-Dauerspannung
(Klemme 30). Dies ist eine Leitung, die auch nach Abschalten der Zündung 12V führt.
• Verbinden Sie die offene Leitung am Einbauinstrument mit der Stromversorgung für die Armaturen-
beleuchtung (Klemme 58).
• Überprüfen Sie nochmals den korrekten Anschluss und klemmen Sie dann den Minuspol der Bordbatterie
wieder an.
• Testen Sie, ob die Uhr und die Beleuchtung funktionieren.
Bedienung
• Stellen Sie die Uhr, indem Sie den zentral angeordneten Knopf an der Frontseite drücken und gleichzeitig
drehen.
• Wählen Sie die Farbe der Hintergrundbeleuchtung, indem Sie bei eingeschalteter Fahrzeugbeleuchtung
den Drehschalter an der Instrumentenrückseite drehen. Als Beleuchtungsfarben stehen rot, grün, blau und
gelb zur Verfügung.
Wartung und Pflege
Äußerlich sollte das Einbauinstrument nur mit einem weichen, trockenen Tuch oder einem Pinsel gereinigt
werden.
Verwenden Sie auf keinen Fall aggressive Reinigungsmittel oder chemische Lösungen, da sonst die
Oberfläche des Gehäuses beschädigt werden könnte.
Aufgrund der hohen Lebensdauer von LEDs ist kein Leuchtmittelwechsel für die Instrumentenbeleuchtung
erforderlich.
Entsorgung

Entsorgen Sie das Produkt am Ende seiner Lebensdauer gemäß den geltenden gesetzlichen
Bestimmungen.

This product complies with the applicable National and European specifications.
Intended Use
The EQUUS Quartz Clock LED 4-coloured serves to display the time in cars.
This product may only be operated if it is connected to a 12V DC car power supply with the negative terminal
of the car battery connected to the body. It may only be installed and operated in vehicles supplied with this
kind of voltage. Never connect the device to any other power supply.
Use is only permitted inside the car, not outside. Contact with moisture or dampness must be avoided at all
times. The user must make sure that the way the product is installed protects the product from humidity and
wetness.
Any use other than that described above could lead to damage to this product and involves the risk of short
circuits, fire, electric shock, etc.
No part of the product can be modified or rebuilt.
The safety instructions must be observed at all times.
Safety and hazard notices
The warranty will lapse for damage due to non-compliance with these operating
instructions. We will not assume liability for any resulting damage.
We shall not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury caused by
incorrect handling or non-compliance with the safety instructions. The warranty is
voided in these cases.
An exclamation mark in a triangle means there are important instructions you should
read. Please read the operating instructions through completely before putting the
device into operation. They contain important information for correct operation.
• Prior to commissioning, check the device for damage. If the device is damaged, it may not be put into
operation.
• The unauthorized conversion and/or modification of the product is inadmissible because of safety and
approval reasons.
• The device may only be used with the 12V DC vehicle power supply (with the negative terminal of the
battery connected to the body of the vehicle). Never connect the device to any other power supply.
• Make sure you use the device properly. Please also follow these operating instructions.
• Consult an expert when in doubt about the operation, the safety or the connection of the device.
• Check the device and the connection leads for damages from time to time. An expert must repair the
product in case the device or the connection cables are damaged.
• Avoid heavy mechanical stress on the laminator and do not expose it to high temperatures, strong vibration
or dripping or spray water.
• Never pour out liquids above the device. You run the risk of causing a fire or a fatal electric shock. If any
liquid should nevertheless penetrate the device, immediately disconnect it from the power supply network
and contact a specialist.
• The device does not belong in the hands of children. Keep it out of the reach of children!
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. These may become dangerous playing material
for children.
• If you are not sure about the correct connection or if questions arise which are not covered by the operating
instructions, please do not hesitate to contact our technical support or another specialist.
• Observe the additional safety instructions in each individual section of these instructions, too.
Mounting
The general safety instructions and regulations must be heeded by all means when
performing mounting works in, around and under the vehicle. Also observe the safety
instructions of the vehicle manufacturer!
Modifications to the vehicle which are made necessary through the installation of the
device must always be carried out in such a manner that neither the traffic safety nor
the designed stability of the car is impaired. If you are in doubt when selecting a place
for installation, consult your car dealer.
Make sure before drilling the attachment holes that no electric cables, brake cables or
similar can be damaged.
When using tools for mounting your device, observe the safety instructions of the
manufacturer.
When installing the device, take into consideration the risk of accident which can arise
from devices being torn away in case of an accident. Therefore, you should secure
every component in a place where it cannot be dangerous to passengers.
The device can be attached to the dashboard with the enclosed installation angle or installed in a
corresponding opening in the dashboard.
Matching mounting and installation casings with a standard opening for installation instruments are available

• Select an appropriate installation location. The installation location must be well visible from the driver's

seat.
• When selecting the installation site, consider the required installation depth. Especially ensure sufficient
distance to moving vehicle parts (rods, levers, etc.).
• Twist the attachment ring off the instrument and pull it out of the installation angle.
• If applicable, attach the installation angle with 2 suitable screws on the dashboard.
• Put the instrument into the installation opening and attach it by screwing the attachment ring back on and
tightening it by hand.

The electric connection should be done by a specialist.
To avoid shorts and any resulting damage to the device, the negative terminal (earth)
of the car battery has to be disconnected first.

Only connect the negative pole of the battery, when you have completely connected the
system and checked the connections.
You should only use a voltmeter or a diode test lamp for checking the voltage on the
on-board cables as normal test lamps consume excessive currents and can thus
damage the electronic system of the car.
When installing the cables, make sure that these are not squashed or scrape on sharp
edges! Use cable nozzles for passage points.
Only use suitable car cables for connection. Bell wires etc. are not suited for installation
in cars.
You may also only use suitable car plug-type connections that must be installed with
suitable tools on the cables.
Try to install the connection leads along the car's cable tree and avoid loose cable loops
that may become caught in the pedals of the vehicle. This may lead to life-threatening
situations while driving.
To connect the installation instrument, you need the following cables from your vehicle's on-board voltage net:
• 12V constant voltage for interruption-free power supply of the clock (clamp 30).
• Ground for the power supply and illumination of the instrument (clamp 31).
• 12V power supply for instrument illumination (clamp 58).
Locate the corresponding connection contacts in your vehicle. In case of uncertainty, contact an expert!
The contacts and cables to which the instrument is connected must be secured with a corresponding fuse!
• Disconnect the negative pole of the on-board battery.
• Connect the connection marked with (-) on the instrument with the vehicle ground or a ground lead (clamp
31).
• Connect the connection marked with (+) on the instrument with the 12V constant voltage (clamp 30). This
is the cable that still carries 12V when the ignition is turned off.
• Connect the open cable on the installation instrument with the power supply for the dashboard light (clamp
58).
• Check the correct connection once again and then reattach the negative pole of the on-board battery.
• Check whether the clock and the illumination work.
Operation
• Set the clock by pressing the central button on the front and turning at the same time.
• Select the colour of the background illumination by turning the knob on the back of the instrument. Red,
green, blue and yellow are available for illumination.
Care and maintenance
The outside of the product should be cleaned with a clean dry cloth or brush only.
Never use caustic cleaning agents or chemical solutions as the surface of the housing could be damaged.
Due to the long service life of the LEDs, there is no need to change the light bulbs for the illumination.
Disposal

When the product is no longer usable, dispose of it in accordance with the applicable statutory
regulations.
