Operation

a) Preparing for use
• Place the product on a stable, level and heat-resistant surface.
• Unwind the power cord from the cord storage underneath the product. Run the
power cord through the recess on the bottom of the product.
• Make sure the crumb tray is put in place.
• Allow the product to complete several toasting cycles without food, until no odour or
smoke is present. During toasting, ensure ample ventilation and select the highest
setting (toast level).
b) Toasting
• Connect the power plug to a suitable electrical outlet.
• Insert bread slices of regular size into the bread slots.
• Select the desired toast level with the browning knob. Choose among levels 1 to 6
according to your preference.
• Press the toast lever downward until it locks in place. The toasting process starts.
The toast lever can be pressed down only when power is connected.
• When the set toast level is reached, the toast lever pops up automatically.
• To manually terminate the toasting process, press the Cancel button (ñ).
• The ideal browning level depends on bread type, slice thickness and
toasting time. Please try several times to find your favourite setting.
• Reduce the browning level when only using one bread slot.
• Maintain at least 1 minute intervals between toasting cycles.
c) Removing toasts
Caution! Bread slices and parts of the product get very hot and stay hot for
some time after operation.
Do not use conductive tools, such as a fork, to remove toast from the
product as this may damage the heating elements.
d) Removing lodged toasts
• If the toast is lodged inside the product, press the Cancel button and disconnect the
power plug from the electrical outlet.
• Wait until the product has cooled completely.
• Remove the toast carefully and take care not to damage the heating elements.
e) Defrosting
• Connect the power plug to the electrical outlet.
• Set the desired toast level with the browning knob.
• Put the bread to be defrosted into the bread slot(s).
• Press the toast lever downward and press the Defrost button (T). The Defrost
indicator lights up to indicate that the defrosting process has started.
• When the defrosting is finished, the toast lever pops up.
In the defrosting mode, the bread is toasted to the selected browning level.
Once the level is reached, the toasting process cancels automatically.

f) Reheating
• Connect the power plug to the electrical outlet.
• Put the bread to be reheated into the bread slot(s).
• Press the toast lever downward and press the Reheat button ( ). The Reheat
indicator lights up to indicate that the reheating process has started.
• When the reheating is finished, the toast lever pops up.
In the reheating mode, the toasting time is fixed by default. Once the time is
reached, the reheating process cancels automatically.
g) Interrupting the toasting / reheating / defrosting cycle
• During operation, press the Cancel button at any time to cancel the toasting/
reheating/defrosting process. The toast lever pops up.
• To prevent the product from becoming overheated, let it cool for at least 1 minute
between toasting cycles.
• Never try to cancel toasting by lifting the toast lever.

Maintenance and cleaning

Before cleaning, make sure to disconnect the product from the electrical
outlet and let it cool completely.
• Clean the housing:
- Turn the product upside down and shake slightly to remove remaining crumbs.
- Clean with a damp cloth and a little mild detergent.
- Let dry completely.
• Clean the crumb tray:
- Remove the crumb tray from the product and dispose of crumbs.
- Rinse with clean water and a little mild detergent.
- Let dry completely before inserting into the product.
• Do not use any abrasive or chemical cleaners.
• To prevent scratch marks, do not apply too much force on the surface during
cleaning.
• To remove tougher stains, slightly dampen the cloth with lukewarm water. You may
use a little soap or a mild cleaning agent.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the
household waste.
At the end of its service life, dispose of the product according to the
relevant statutory regulations.
You thus fulfill your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection
of the environment.
