Water kettle

Intended use
The water kettle is intended for heating normal household amounts of drinking water and for
private use.
The product is only suitable for connection to a 220 - 240 V/AC, 50 Hz alternating voltage isolated
ground receptacle.
It is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with moisture, e.g. in bathrooms,
must be avoided under all circumstances.
For safety and approval purposes (CE), you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you
use the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In
addition, improper use can cause hazards such as short circuiting, fire, electric shock etc. Read
the instructions carefully and keep them. Make this product available to third parties only together
with its operating instructions.

Important safety instructions
• The water kettle and the base with connection
cable must be kept away from children below 8
years.
• This appliance can be used by children 8 years
old and above and by persons with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack
of experience and/or knowledge only if they are
given supervision or instruction concerning use
of the appliance in a safe way and understand the
hazards involved. Children should be supervised
to ensure that they do not play with the device.
• Cleaning and user maintenance must not be
performed by children if unsupervised.
• The device is intended for household use and
similar applications, such as
- in staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other
commercial environments
- in farm houses
- by clients in hotels, motels and other residential
environments
- in bed and breakfast places.
The device is not intended for commercial use.
• Do not fill the water kettle beyond the 1.7 L MAX
marking (6). Boiling water could splash from the
spout!
• Always close the lid before starting operation, in
order for water steam not to settle on the handle.
• Never open the lid during or shortly after boiling.
There is a risk of scalding from escaping water
steam!
• Never immerse in water! Do not immerse the
product in water or other liquids.
• To prevent risks, damaged power cables may only
be replaced by the manufacturer, a professional
workshop appointed by the manufacturer, or a
similarly qualified person.
Safety instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety
information. If you do not follow the safety instructions and information on proper
handling in this manual, we assume no liability for any resulting personal injury or
damage to property. Such cases will invalidate the warranty/guarantee.
• The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. These may become
dangerous playing material for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high
humidity, moisture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and
protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if
the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height
can damage the product.
• Before connecting to the mains, check if the specifications on the rating label (on the
bottom of the water kettle and base) match the voltage supply in your home.
• Do not operate the device unsupervised.
• Use the product with the provided base only.
• First switch off the product and then disconnect the mains plug when not using the
product.
• Protect the contacts on the bottom of the water kettle and base from splashing and
dripping.
• Do not move the product during use.
• Some parts of the product can become very hot and cause burning. Special care is
required, if children and heat-insensitive persons are present.
• The water kettle must be switched off before connecting it to the mains supply.
• Connect the product directly to a wall socket. Do not use multi-outlet power strips,
extension cables, etc. Due to the high power consumption of the water kettle, such
devices could easily be overloaded if used with multiple appliances. The wall socket
used must be equipped with a fuse of at least 16 A. Do not connect any additional
remote switch control, timer switch or other devices that automatically switch on
the product.
• Move, transport and store the product only when it is fully cooled off.
• The product generates heat and hot water steam. Ensure sufficient ventilation and
do not cover the product during use.
• Unwrap the power cable fully during use. If not fully unwounded, the power cable
can cause overheating. This poses a fire hazard!
• Never touch the product with moist or wet hands during use. There is the risk of
electric shock.
• The mains outlet must be located near to the device and be easily accessible.
• Never pull the mains plug from the socket by pulling at the cable. Always pull it from
the mains socket using the intended grips.
• Unplug the mains plug from the mains socket if you do not use the device for an
extended period of time.
• For safety reasons, always unplug the device in case of a thunderstorm.
• Make sure that the mains cable is not squeezed, bent, damaged by sharp edges or
put under mechanical stress. Avoid excessive thermal stress on the mains cable
from extreme heat or cold. Do not modify the mains cable. Otherwise the mains cable
may be damaged. A damaged mains cable can cause a deadly electric shock.
• Do not touch the mains cable if it is damaged. First, power down the respective mains
socket (e.g. via the respective circuit breaker) and then carefully pull the mains plug
from the mains socket. Never use the product if the mains cable is damaged.
• Never plug in or unplug the mains plug when your hands are wet.
• To prevent risks, damaged power cables may only be replaced by the manufacturer,
a professional workshop appointed by the manufacturer, or a similarly qualified
person.
• Guide the mains cable in such a way, that no one can trip over it or get caught in it.
This poses a risk of injury.
• Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connection of the device.
