1. The Large Diaphragm Mono&Stereo
Condenser Microphone MC 47
The Nevaton MC 47 is a large diaphragm
condenser microphone for all professional
studio and off-studio applications. It can be
used as a stereo-microphone (X/Y technique)
and provides you with multi-pattern functions
in mono-mode!
It offers an incredible spatial representation
and can be used as a main microphone for
orchestra recordings, for chamber
ensembles, pop concerts, for vocal-
recordings, instruments like guitar and drums
as well as for ambient field recordings.
Generally speaking it is equally well suited for
applications in radio and television broad-
casting as well as for live concerts and studio
sound production.
The MC 47 features two large 25-mm
diaphragms, placed one above the other,
who`s angles can be simultaneously adjusted
giving the possibility of a variable stereo
width from 0° up to a maximum of 90°. The
figures «1, 2, 3, 4» at the swivel adapter
correspond to 0°, 30° , 60° , 90° stereoangle.
Stereo Mode:
The switch on the base of the microphone`s
head is set in position«10 mV/Pa», which
refers to the sensitivity of each channel.
The direction of acoustical axis remains
stable, while the converters are turning
simultaneously in opposite directions.
Mono Mode:
The switch on the base of microphone head
is set to the position «20 mV/Pa». Signals
from both converters are summed together in
the output chain and applied at the second
and the third pin of the output-connector.

Kondensator Mikrofon MC 47
Das Nevaton MC 48 ist ein Großmem-
branStereo Kondensatormikrofon für alle
professionellen Anwendungen im - oder
außerhalb des Studios. Es kann sowohl als
Stereo-Mikrofon (X/Y-Technik) als auch als
Mono-Mikrofon mit Multi-pattern Funktionen
verwendet werden!
Es bietet eine außergewöhnlich gute
räumliche Auflösung und kann als
Hauptmikrofon für Orchesteraufnahmen, für
Kammerensembles, Pop-Konzerte, für
Gesangsaufnahmen und Instrumente wie
Akk.Gitarre sowie Ambientrecordings
verwendet werden. Es ist für Anwendungen
bei Radio und Film gleichermaßen gut
geeignet wie für Studio - und Liveaufnahmen.
Das MC 47 besitzt zwei getrennte 25-
mmDoppelmembran-Kapseln, die überein-
ander angeordnet sind und sich gegenein-
ander verdrehen lassen. Der Aufnahmewinkel
ist dadurch von 0° - 90° frei justierbar. Die
Figuren «1, 2, 3, 4» am Drehschalter
korrespondieren dabei mit 0°, 30°, 60°, 90°.
Stereo Modus:
Der Schalter am Mikrofongehäuse ist in der
Position «10 mV/Pa» (verweisend auf die
Empfindlichkeit jedes Kanals) Die akustische
Achse bleibt stabil, während die Kapseln sich
gleichzeitig in jeweils verschiedene Richt-
ungen verdrehen lassen.
Mono Mode:
Der Schalter am Mikrophongehäuse ist in der
Position «20 mV/Pa». Die Signale beider
Kapseln werden summiert und an den
zweiten und dritten Pin des Ausgangs-
steckers angelegt.

The figure "1" at the swivel adaptor corres-
ponds to polar pattern of cardioid, while figure
"4" means extremely wide cardioid. The
direction of acoustical axis remains stable
while the polar response is changing.
Each capsule is connected to an individual
transformerless pre-amplifier-channel which
is built to the class-A transformerless
standard. All used input transistors pass a
special selection to guarantee minimal self-
noise.
The MC 47 has excellent transient responses,
an extremely high overload capability
(distortion free transmission of signals up
to135 dB), exceptionally low self-noise and a
linear frequency characteristic.All compon-
ents of the capsulas have passed a special
artificial ageing process to guarantee the
stability of their parameters. The internal
construction is elastically mounted to
attenuate vibrational and handling noise.
A small led indicates the microphone`s
frontposition and shows when phantom
powering is active.
The microphone`s body is made of brass
with a dark-grey non-reflective paint finish on
an epoxy base. A three-layer metallic grill
effectively protects the transducers from
mechanical impacts and influences.
This technology makes them immune to
electrical and atmospheric interference and
contamination through microscopic dust
particles and makes it also suitable for off-
studio applications.
A gold-plated 5-pin XLR-connector is used as
an output-connector. A forked break-out cable
5-pin F to 2 x 3-pinM XLR type connector is
part of the set.
A pop shield for vocal recordings in the studio
and a windscreen for open air recordings are
recommended.
2. Powering Technique
The MC 47 is designed for phantom
powering technique.
According to IEC recommendations with a
positive voltage of 48 volts.

shown at fig. 1,2. (see next page)
Die Figur "1" am Drehrad bedeutet Richt-
charakt. "Niere", Figur "4" heißt extrem
"Weite Niere". Die Richtung der akkustischen
Achse bleibt stabil, während sich die
Richtcharakteristik ändert.
Jede Kapsel ist mit einem eigenen
transformatorlosen (Class A) Vorverstärker-
Kanal verbunden. All Transistoren werden
handselektiert um geringstes Eigenrauschen
sicherzustellen.
Das MC 47 hat ein exzellentes
Impulsverhalten, kann sehr laute Signale
verzerrungsfrei verarbeiten (135dB) und hat
einen linearen Frequenzgang. Sämtliche
Komponenten der Mikrofonkapselnwurden
einem künstlichen Alterungsprozess unter-
zogen um die Stabilität sämtlicher Mikrofon-
parameter über lange Jahre hinweg zu
gewährleisten.
Eine kleine Led markiert die Vorderseite und
Einsprechrichtung des Mikrophons und zeigt
an wenn Phantomspannung anliegt.
Das Mikrofongehäuse aus Messing ist mit
einer dunkelgrauen nicht reflektierenden
Lackierung auf Epoxybasis versehen, welche
einen ausgezeichneten Schutz vor
mechanischen und athmosphärischen
Einflüssen gewährleistet.
Ein dreischichtiger Grill aus Metall schützt die
Mikrofonkapsel effektiv vor mechanischen
Schäden und Verschmutzung durch
Staubpartikel.
Goldbeschichtete 5-pin XLR-Steckverbindung
Ein XLR - Anschlusskable 5-pin/W zu 2x3-pin
M ist im Set enthalten.
Für Vokalaufnahmen im Studio wird ein Pop-
schutz, für Außenaufnahmen ein Windschutz
empfohlen.
2. Stromversorgung
Das MC 47 wurde für den Betrieb mit
Phantomspannung entworfen
Gemäß IEC-Empfehlung mit einer positiven
Spannung von 48V.
