OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
HDMI-compatible Changeover Switch 9425H
Item no. 34 36 96
Intended Use
The changeover switch serves to connect 5 devices with HDMI-compatible output to a device with a HDMI- compatible input.
It is only approved for connection to HDMI-compatible inputs and outputs of corresponding AV devices.
As power supply, only use the supplied mains adapter. The power unit is only approved for connection to
100-240V~/50-60Hz alternating current.
It can only be used in closed rooms, and therefore not outdoors. Contact with humidity, e.g. in wet rooms and similar, must
be avoided at all times.
Any use other than that described above could lead to damage to this product and involves the risk of short circuits, fire,
electric shock, etc.
The product must not be modified or converted, and the casing must not be opened.
The safety instructions must be observed at all times.
This product complies with the applicable National and European specifications.
Safety instructions
The warranty will lapse for damage due to non-compliance with these operating instructions. We
will not assume liability for any resulting damage.
Nor do we assume liability for damage to property or personal injury, caused by improper use or
failure to observe the safety instructions. The warranty is voided in these cases.
An exclamation mark in a triangle means there are important instructions you should read.
For safety and licensing (CE) reasons, unauthorised conversion and/or modifications to the product are not permitted.
The plug-in power supply is designed for safety class II and must only be operated on a public mains output.
Do not touch the plug-in power supply if it shows any damage. First, de-energize the corresponding mains socket (e.g.
via the respective circuit-breaker) and afterwards carefully pull the power adapter out of the socket. Disconnect the plug-
in power supply from the device. Never operate the product with a damaged power supply.
In order to disconnect the unit from the power system completely the power supply must be disconnected from the power
socket.
Never connect or disconnect power units if your hands are wet.
Please also observe the safety instructions provided by the producers of the devices you wish to connect. You should
therefore also carefully read the relevant other operating instructions.
Do not take up operation of the product if it is damaged.
The product is not a toy and should be kept out of reach of children! Children cannot judge the dangers involved when
handling electrical devices.
Never pour out liquids above electrical appliances and never leave objects filled with liquids (e.g. vases) in the vicinity.
This would cause a serious danger of fire or electric shock. If this is the case, de-energise the respective mains socket
(e.g. switch off circuit breaker) and then pull the power adapter out of the socket. Disconnect all cables from the device.
Afterwards, the product must no longer be used; take it to a specialist workshop.
Do not expose the device to high temperatures, dripping or splashing water, strong vibrations or high mechanic stress.
Do not place open sources of fire, such as burning candles, on or right next to the device.
Ensure sufficient ventilation of the power supply and the switch during operation. Do not cover the units with newspapers,
sheets, curtains or similar. Keep a minimum distance of about 5 cm from other objects.
Use the device only in moderate climate regions and not in tropical ones.
Do not leave packing material unattended. These may become dangerous playing material for children.
Consult an expert when in doubt about the mode of operation, safety or connection of the device.
Should any questions arise that are not answered in this operating manual, contact our Technical Advisory Service or
another expert.
Connection
Only connect devices with the same ports to these ports.
Should your device not have the required inputs or outputs, use a suitable adapter.
Only use suitable HDMI-capable lines for connecting. If in doubt, consult an expert.
Carefully read the input and output connection and/or compatibility section in the relevant
operating instructions of the devices that are to be connected to the adapter.
If these instructions are not observed, the switch or connected appliances could be damaged.
Switch off the devices to be connected before connecting them to the connecting jacks. Do not put
them into operation again until you have made all necessary connections and checked them over
once again.
Stick to the same procedure when changing the connection to any of the devices.
Connect the inputs INPUT 1 to INPUT 5 with the outputs of your AV source devices (DVD player, SAT receiver etc.).
Connect the output OUTPUT with the input of your TV, monitor or beamer.
Put the low-voltage plug of the enclosed power supply into the DC 5V connector socket .
Plug the power unit into a wall socket.
Inserting/changing the batteries of the remote control
Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
Make sure that the polarity is correct when inserting the batteries.
Remove the batteries when the device is not being used for long periods of time.
Do not leave the batteries lying around in the open; there is the risk that they will be swallowed by
children or pets. In such case, seek instant medical care!
Batteries must never be short-circuited, taken apart or thrown into fire. There is a risk of explosion!
Do not recharge normal batteries. There is a risk of explosion!
Leaking or damaged batteries can cause burns if they come into contact with the skin. You should
therefore wear suitable protective gloves.
Slide open the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the remote control and take it off.
Remove flat batteries (if applicable) and insert 2 new 1.5-V micro-batteries (type AAA) in the battery compartment.
Observe the polarity markings. The correct polarity is stamped in the bottom of the battery compartment .
Slide the battery compartment cover onto the remote control again.
Operation
Turn the switch on and off with the button POWER on the remote control or the device itself. When the device is turned
on, a green LED for the inputs lights up.
The respective inputs are selected directly with the buttons 1 to 5 on the remote control.
The input whose green LED lights up on the device is the one connected to the output of the switch.
Handling
Never plug the power plug into a mains socket immediately after the device has been taken from a cold to a warm
environment. The resulting condensation water may damage the device.
Allow the device to reach room temperature before connecting it. Wait until the condensation water has evaporated.
Never disconnect power plugs from the mains socket by the cable. Always pull out it out of the mains socket holding it
by the contact surfaces provided for this purpose.
Remove the plug mains unit from the wall socket if the device is not in use for a longer period of time.
For safety reasons, disconnect the power pack from the mains socket in case of an electrical storm.
Care and maintenance
Except for replacing the batteries, the switch does not have to be serviced and, except for occasional cleaning with a soft,
dry cloth, requires no care whatsoever.
Disposal
Please dispose of the device, when it is no longer of use, according to the current statutory requirements.
Disposal of spent batteries/rechargeable batteries
The user is legally obliged (battery regulation) to return used batteries and storage batteries. Do not
dispose of used batteries via the household rubbish.
Contaminated batteries/rechargeable batteries are labelled with these symbols to indicate that disposal
in domestic waste is forbidden. The symbols for dangerous heavy metal constituents are:
Cd = Cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead. You can return used batteries/storage batteries free of charge
to any collecting point of your local authority, to our stores or to any other store where batteries/storage
batteries are sold.
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
